Big Floppa. What The Heck Kind of Cat Is This?!

When I first saw this video, it was on my phone and I couldn't discern what kind of animal he is, especially when he hissed then sounded like a dog barking. I can see him better when watching on my computer but I'm still confuzzled. Strangest looking cat I've ever seen. But Big Floppa has his own YouTube channel. 😸 Some commenters are concerned about his health because of he appears to be overweight. So to answer my own question, it turns out he is a Caracal cat, a mid sized wild cat. I'd never heard of them before. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caracal

I'm only aware of their existence from playing the Zoo Tycoon game in the 2000s (specifically the African expansion pack of 2006). So nice when time wasted playing games turns out to have a (slight) educational effect. :D

Yes, I would say that is a wildcat, a mountain lion of a sort. Should not be kept as a pet. The animal will not be happy and it will be a danger to humans and other domesticated animals. I would think this animal would be reported and removed from the home. It would be sent to a wildlife center and be released to the wild when it learns how to take care of its self.

My BFF and I were talking about wild animals being kept as pets but not because of Big Floppa. I saw a video about a couple who raised a cougar, I think it was. Big Floppa seems to thrive on love and attention. This couple has an accent and judging by the YT info, I don't think they live in the U.S. Here's BF cuddling up to his owner. BTW both my BFF and I said we wouldn't want to keep a wild animal as a pet, even if raised from birth because they could turn on it's owner(s). I hope BF never turns on his owners.

There's a video if I recall about a guy comes home and his 4 legged cougar welcome him home....... Hang on... found it it lives in Russia.
