Have You Ever Used Table Salt to Melt Snow?

We are expecting snow flurries tonight, and I had left some bags outside for Green Drop to pick up tomorrow (donations). I was worried because
I had no salt left, so I read online that I can use table salt instead. So I sprinkled the porch and steps with table salt! Has anyone else done this? Has it worked for you? I don't want anyone slipping as they pick up the bags.

Just had a thought.. maybe if you put it in warm water it might work better... altho' of course you might create sheet ice overnight
I read that it lowers the water's freezing point to 20 (water normally freezes at 32 degrees F). We are not expecting below 20 overnight. We'll see. I'm hoping it works. Keep my fingers crossed!

When we had serious amount of snow to dissolve, we'd get a large bag of speciality salt for snow removal. Worked every time.

Table salt, I use to wash hands with after cutting onions and garlic buds. Cleans smells right off.

I used table salt with ice to make ice cream in my old churn. Miss that item so much. It disappeared in mid 90s.

Table salt is great for washing windows ledges and doors to remove bad energies from every new home you move into. Very useful.

Finally, just extra bonus on versatility of salt. Black salt (you can get from any magical shops or online) sprinkled around the perimeter of your home, instant protection.

Sorry, to have gone off-subject a bit but consider these extra tips and tricks...
