Nah! I’m far too shy and know nothing about zoom. My husband had to use it during Covid lockdown for meetings but he’s much more computer savvy than I. Thank you anyway.

Nope. Zoom will try to get you to download it, but you can run it from the web app via the meeting link. Just ignore the download prompts and click on "Launch Meeting" in the tab that opens when you click on the link.

Not better info, just do as @Medusa says , ignore the download prompt. I tried doing the download and that's where I went wrong.

My wife already used Zoom for meetings and had the app installed and an account. So as I yesterday joined the meeting, Zoom updated the app and then let me in. It was no problem. Funny thing that my wife's name was displayed below my pic.

PSA: You can, however, change the name underwhich you appear by clicking the three dots at the top/right of your video box (the box in which you are appearing. Couldn't think of how to phrase that.)
