Ok, the wheelchair's occupant had been carried downstairs to use the bathroom, and this hockey player guy pushed the wheelchair downstairs. Then people gave the wheelchair owner some money....to get a new chair, I assume....but she doesn't want it.

I really don't see the problem. I mean, sure, you shouldn't go around pushing unoccupied wheelchairs down flights of stairs, but I don't get why someone thought this was worth assigning a journalist to get the scoop.

Yes it was a stupid stunt. It doesnt matter if it was a wheel chair or a kitchen chair, worst case is it was property damage, no one was hurt, the young lady was not in the chair.

Again, stupid and thoughtless stunt, but not to such a level it should ruin the kids life by throwing him out of school or in jail.

He has issued a public apology and is accepting financial resposibility for the chair, so thats a good sign. Put him on probation at school, put him in some sort of community service program working with the handicap, and pray he learns from experience.

I think it was done more because of his dad’s position. However, taking into considering that he has had another discipline issue in the past from another university, it may be time that this self-entitled young man learns a lesson in life that along with making bad choices can come consequences.

One thing to note the son/wheel chair tosser is 23. He's not a 19 year old freshman at a college party nor is this probably his first time around alcohol. This is a so called adult.

I hope this brings attention to stupidity and ignorance especially towards the handicapped. A wheelchair is not just a thing it's their mobility and freedom.

Well, I guess it's news. Remember we are not the ones that choose what will be reported. But be famous first, and then do something stupid, and then by the powers that be, it becomes news worthy.

What a pointless stunt that was. What surprises me, although it probably shouldn’t, is how quickly a Go Fund Me page popped up. The guy should be responsible for paying for a new chair. And he needs to do some community service involving handicapped people.
The police are investigating but other than vandalism or destruction of private property I don't see how this get's in a court room. Maybe somekind of harassment charge since the handicapped are a protected class?

Go Fund Me has bailed out alot of stupid criminal people even if they didn't start the page. The public wants to help which is good but it also gets the culprit/s off the financial hook.

Price to pay for getting the victim back on track?
