Americans in Britain (Airforce)

USAF, sightseeing/training in the Britsh countryside.

Lake District, Cumbria, England.

Fast lane or Holy Loch something was an American naval base by the Clyde in Greenock. It's been gone for a few years now. When we lived in Dunoon, I'd views of submarines in the Clyde daily but didn't enjoy the buzz of fighter planes going Mach2 up the river. Everything shook up and scared the ebeegeebees out of me and munchkins. I thought WWIII was happening. Yeash!

I know the housing area's gone but found this article here, so maybe they're back?

I was driving on a lonely road in the middle of nowhere northern Nevada and 3 fighter jets suddenly appeared from over a ridge. Flying so close to the ground they felt like you could reach up and touch them, went right over my head. Kicked up a lot of dust and scared the hell out of me...

Could have been from either Hill AFB or Fallon NAS, I was about half way in between.
