Fake Funerals for Stress Therapy

I just read more into this... they do it to help with fears and anxieties. I don't even know what to say to that!
Some psychologists say that you must face the situation which causes fear and anxiety to be healed from it. They advise people who are afraid of heights (acrophobia) to go on high roofs and look down (under supervision), shy people to mix with the crowd or people who are afraid of spiders (arachnophobia) to touch them. So if someone is in fear of being buried alive perhaps it could help. But to pay so much money for it?

So hard to understand. I'd have to think that for every person being able to hear their own funeral (oy!) and being buried might somehow be shock therapy to get them over the fear, there'd be just as many people it would totally freak out and make the fear/anxiety worse... like totally put them over the edge. Oh well, I guess I don't have to understand.

You're right. In some cases such a therapy might help in others be extremely harmful.
