None of the main topics fit so I put it here. For a few years now I have watched the videos posted by the big cat rescue in tampa fl. they have been doing rescues from zoos, wild life theme parks that went under, private captures etc..they have very large acreage in tampa and have for some time pushed to get a law thru the government to protect the wild big cats.

They have had many different cats die over the years after they treated their illnesses, fed them, entertained them and in general tried to keep them feeling like they were now safe... tigers, lions, cougars, servals, etc..now after 30 years they are closing down and moving the cats that remain to Arkansas..I hope they keep up the video as it was quite entertaining..

We’ve been to the big cat place in Arkansas. Took the grands when they were younger. We stayed on the property in a cabin with a loft. Kids were in the loft when the lions started roaring. They came boiling out of that loft so fast! Great to see these creatures up close, but sad that they need to be rescued In the first place.

People think big cats are just big kittens, and for the first two years of their lives, that's true. Then comes along puberty, and they become apex predators. That's when owners fear being eaten, so they ditch the cats. So, we need places for these animals, who also wind up entangled with human development.
