Unvaxxed discrimination?

Were you ever discriminated against for being unvaccinated for covid 19? I wasn't in my real life where everyone treated me decently and respected my choice but online? OMG. There were, and probably still are, people who wanted to see me and other unvaccinated people detained and segregated from the rest of society until we submitted to vaccination.

I am fine with whatever decision people make. I did get vaccinated, boosted. I also got the flu, pneumonia, shingles vaccines. I still wear a mask. I figure if it has helped so far why not just play it safe. Mind you, I only leave the house once or twice a week so I also don't get a lot of exposure to others.

Oh yes, lots didn't like it, that we didn’t have the jabs …..but they never knew the reasons ,and judged anyway !!….typical human beings …..
Ya got that right - "Typical human beings." Typical FOOLS. Like my nephew who I'll have nothing to do with. His whole family was vaccinated - & every single one of them got Covid & some were much sicker than I was. He's rather........quiet now.

I asked people why they didn’t want to be vaccinated and I was given answers like, “Bill Gates put a chip in the vaccine so that the government can control us. “
“ There are aborted fetuses in the vaccine.”
“I know a man who is a friend of my sister’s boss who got the vaccine and can’t walk now.”
“I’m not going to live in fear, you snowflake. “

Luckily my circle of neighbors, friends and family all took the vaccine when it was available. One family member died from Covid before he could get his, but he intended to when it was available, it was very early in the pandemic.

Lots of conspiracies and disinformation spread about the vaccine, and some people just easily became fearful and went far down the rabbit hole. As we all know, many of those died or at least were seriously ill and hospitalized, many times they went from the ventilator to the grave. Some, of course, were lucky and never got infected or never seriously ill from the deadly virus. Glad so many were like you and the folks I know, I appreciate those who act responsibly during trying times. 💙

No I am vaccinated.

however, a friend was unable to go fishing in Canada with me last year because he was unvaccinated
Too bad for him, but he had a choice and refused it...unless he had a medical reason where he could not take it, like my sickly neighbor who is allergic to many vaccines and is on medications. Glad you were vaccinated, my husband and I are also.

I am fortunate. I don’t know anyone who died from Covid…. nor do I know anyone who had any bad side effects or died or was injured from the vaccine.
Many of my friends have had covid at this point. The only ones I know who had to be hospitalized were unvaccinated.
One of my unvaccinated friends always stresses to me that the only people she knows who got covid were vaccinated. She tells me this very smugly.
In my state 95% of people ages 60 and up have been vaccinated , so it makes perfect sense that the only people she knows who got covid were vaccinated!

This covid , started of bad , and scared everyone , and cost the tax payer lots of money….and then all of a sudden, it all went quiet……...with nobody knowing, what was happening and going on …
it caused alot of arguments, breakups, abuse in the homes, children being taken into care , etc etc ..
yes it caused a lot of deaths , but not nearly as many deaths as the Flu does every year…….

Neither my husband or I was ever sick from Covid, thankfully. We will get the next booster once it becomes available.

I wonder if covid and the covid vaccines were just a trial run for something more insidious? This seemed more about control than our health from the start. They tried to terrify people while they, themselves, were so obviously NOT frightened. An intelligent person could pretty easily figure this out. IMHO.

"Act Responsibly."
Uh....yeah. Acting responsibly means doing what you did - which makes you feel good about yourself.
Why don't unvaxed people feel the same need to flatter themselves? Because they are confident in their decision. Obviously, you are not.
You're part of the problem.

This has been an interesting process. A lot of decisions had to be made on limited information. At first we thought the virus was going to be worse than it was, or a lot of people did anyway. And the first versions were probably more virulent. Over time it seems to have weakened a bit, and we have learned better how to treat it.

At this point rather than criticizing people and governments for the decisions made I think we should look at what we can learn from the experience. We can be sure more pandemics will happen, and some will be worse, one day much worse than covid. And some that will not be so bad. Better understanding the lessons learned will help us better plan for the next one.

I don't think so, however the fact that you and many others, smart reasonable people, worry about it is a sign that the whole thing was not handled very well. Plenty of others...
I think they tried that over in England , but didn't get far with it, when they opened the football stadiums and festivals with every vaxed and unvaxed people , mixing ......
I think Canada suffered economically for their decisions, and it created many personal hardships. For example a lot of Canadians have snowbird homes in the US, and a lot of Americans have summer places in Canada in 2021 it was impossible for most of these people to use, or maintain, their own homes. And I know the fishing charter people I went out with in Canada lost a lot of income in 2021 because many of their American clients could not travel. I would not want to second guess Canadian decisions, its not my country, but I would hope people are looking at things like this objectively for the lessons learned.
