yes I've travelled on the night train many years ago.. Plymouth to Central station, changed at Birmingham New street tho'.. so not a direct journey.. I did think I might book a night train in advance to Glasgow, and then hire a car from there.. I'd like to go to Oban as well.. and maybe my old stomping ground the Isle of Arran, where I lived when I was a teen.. ..

So far so good today! son is on his flight to Phoenix. In Phoenix they connect to San Jose where my daughter and I will pick them up.
Since airport is in San Jose my daughter wants to go early so we can stop at her favorite mall..ugh!
Then after we get them we are heading straight to Carmel to do lunch and touristy stuff.
Then after that we have 6:00 Pm dinner reservations at Country Club.
A very long day but an oh so joyous one for me.
Can you tell how much I miss my son, Lol?
So HAPPY for you, CeeCee…….ENJOY BIG TIME.🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹.

Last night, I took one dog (Sammie) to watch my daughter play softball.

Today, I'm taking my other dog (Goober) to the bark park so he can dive into the pond and swim around after his frisbee.

I have reasons for taking them separately.

Sammie isn't good with other dogs, and they're allowed to run loose at the bark park, and I don't know how he'd interact with them, whereas Goober is a bit of a snob and pretty much ignores the other dogs.

Also, Sammie really does not like the water, and Goober can't wait to get in.

Although mother's side of the family were from Glasgow, I've never seen much of the city. At the tail end of covid, we went to visit the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, but much of it was still closed off. The 'Hill House' in Helensburgh ,designed by Charles Rennie Macintosh, is well worth a visit.

I did work in Edinburgh for a couple of years and was staying in a hotel on Princess street when the Scottish parliament was restored. There was entertainment in Princess st. gardens and music from 'Garbage'. We've had plenty of garbage since then.

I remember the W. coast from long ago. Girvan, Ayr etc.. but they have gone downhill a lot since then. I don't know much about train fares now, but I would definitely fly to Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Have already been shovelling sNOw.
Big sNOw bank on my drive, and very heavy with snow…..they have already been here to clear the drive.

Cleared a path on the deck, and a path for the guys to do jobs…..will try and shovel the heavy wet crap off the deck…..and continue with the paths for the guys.

I don’t remember ever having this amount of sNOw fall, Colorado Low, at this time of April.
Our winter storms warnings have been lifted……all total, got around 8” that stayed on the ground…..a lot had melted as it came down…..but……there’s still those 8” of crap…..still very light snow now, till noon.

Will continue my melt down, till my mood changes…….what else will I do……don’t know……a bottle of Kahlua sounds good.

Capt, I was born and raised in the West end of Glasgow close to Kelvingrove..... I know the city very well.. all my paternal relatives lived in the South side ... My mother was a Dundonian, so relatives all in Dundee and the East coast

When we were teens we used to drive to Helensburgh just for the fun of taking a drive and playing Simon & Garfunkel on an 8 track really loud..

My aunt & Uncle lived in Edinburgh so when we were kids we'd go visit them occasionally.. and also when we were kids my granny would take us children for a day trip to Saltcoats, Ayr, Largs et al.. and not fogetting the much loved Rothesay .I have many fond memories of those trips,

I also lived and worked on the Isle of Arran, just shortly before I moved to England in my late Teens

It is 53deg here, frost/freeze warnings for this weekend!!!
I'm waiting for this new PT instructor to show up to tell
me how to walk, I guess...something the doc ordered...sunny out at least, but cool for next few days...slept badly last nite for
some reason...oh well.....;)

My mother lived in Denistoun, although her birth was registered as Cambuslang. I haven't been in touch with various cousins etc for a long time, but I believe they lived round Clydebank. I wasn't very impressed with Helensburgh, but as I said, the Hill House was well worth the visit.
Did you ever have an ice cream from Nardini's in Largs?
When I worked down south in Havant, my boss was from Rothesay.

Dennistoun is in the East the other side of the city from where I was raised and on the opposite side of the river Clyde .. almost all tenements there... .. Lulu was from Dennistoun

...yes of course..surely no-one who has been to Largs hasn't had ice cream from the famous Nardini's.. they are to Ice cream as the Rossi family are in Southend Essex . My granny always bought us ice-cream from there and even if it was raining, we'd sit in the bus shelter overlooking the beach and eat our cones.. 🍧

Yard work and later going to Friday fajita special at the Mexican restaurant.
DH is back on for radiation treatment in May. Yesterday the initial look at PET scan yesterday was good but official results come in this afternoon.
One thing: The reason new tests were ordered is the Dr thought she saw something and she did. Cancer has spread a bit into adjoining vessel. That result added hormone therapy to the treatment but otherwise it is the same course.
Can't find emoji for fingers crossed. 🙂
