Well, spring has sprung, do you still do spring cleaning?

I remember that Hillbillies episode, lots of laughter with that show.

I keep things fairly neat around here except for the junk room, but I really should take everything out of the fridge and freezer, clean and do inventory.

I'm in the midst starting yesterday. I am cleaning like I'm in a meditation, and I'm making sure to wear a mask. So far, it's helping. Took lessons in the mundane by my lifetime of reading Ticht Nacht Han. Bless that lovely man.

No... my house gets cleaned all the time whatever time of year it is.

It's not like when we were kids, and carpets had to be lifted and beaten outside, and floors had to be scrubbed and polished underneath... or big heavy drapes had to be taken down and replaced with summer ones. I have blinds throughout the house .. . Everything just gets cleaned every day or every week.. I clean the tops of kitchen cabinets, and wash down the paintwork throughout the house.. once a month .. and that's the sort of job that would have been done during spring cleaning when I was young..

My son is a big fan of his and has all his books. Ticht Nacht Han may be one of the last of the great minds, still unsullied by scandal.

I have a weekly cleaning schedule throughout the house, but I do a deep cleaning every six months. One on December 26 and one on June 26. I still call both spring cleaning though.

There was a time when I could do a big push and get it all done in one day but now I have to break it up into two or three days.

Here's what I do:
Use the pole duster on walls, light fixtures, vents, and behind furniture.
Windex all the paintings.
Take all knick knacks and crystal to the kitchen sink for a good bath.
Wash windows and blinds.
Polish furniture.
Clean out closets, take anything unused or not liked to Goodwill.
Do bathrooms with extra power (mold remover on tiles, etc.)
Vacuum everything, carpet cleaner in high traffic rooms.
Self-clean the oven
Clean out Fridge.
Clean any kitchen cupboards as needed.
Polish outside of all cupboards with Liquid Gold.
Scrub grout on kitchen and bathroom tiles with peroxide.
Wash bedding from comforter down through the mattress pads.
Use alcohol on upholstery spots and mattresses.

What I don't do but every five years or so:
Take down curtains to wash, iron and rehang. I hate that.

What I'm doing this week:
The porches and the outside of the house with the hose. (Cleaning vinegar will take the green slime off the north wall.)

I love to clean! It's the very best thing for my anger issues.

I have more energy in warm weather. So I feel like doing more than dragging myself through the basics.

Things that get neglected in winter include dusting lamps and baseboards, scrubbing bathroom corners, and sorting the storage room.

Finished first floor last week, but still some work in the kitchen before painting. I'll start on second floor next by going through the closet first. I'll get rid of old winter clothes & put away the rest. I have some of the lighter clothes out & will sort out what needs to go too. This week was cleaning off front porch for lawn furniture & first mowing of the year.

that's the one thing I do have to do... and that's sort even more clothes out to sell or donate.. . It's a never ending revolving door for me...

Oh my. Well yesterday I spent the entire day trtying to get a defined bedroom in one of the houses. We are living scattered…with a tiny condo in Durango (clean), a house down south (clean) and this house…pretty trashed. It has become a huge problem.

She 'spring cleans' all year, every day
I no longer know what even dust looks like
She hasn't dusted in ages, as she grabs it outa the air before it lands
