Peripheral neuropathy????

I have peripheral neuropathy and it is especially bad in my feet and lower legs, I don't want to take any prescribed drugs (Makes me feel drugged even at a low dose) I do try and exercise when I can. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to ease the numbness ?

I eat a well balanced diet as much as I can.

Thank you!

I won't waste your time reading all that i have tried for it. Allot of it very aggravating / expensive . None of it helped.

I was @ one time even told that ... if I could loose just ten pounds [which would change my A1c] the change would be felt almost immediately . Well I lost 60 pounds , my last A1c reading was 6.5 ....... Not one damn bit of change in my neuropathy.

Not trying to be discourging ... Just being truthful.

EC has got it now did you know? - who's EC ? - Eric someone?

Well I looked up Eric Clapton .... and it appears it's him.

It's a shame for anyone to have it .

My doc @ the time told me , there is no rock solid reason for it. Although he did say it was pre-diabetes related , aggravated by excessive weight. And suggested I should lose .. etc, etc,& so-on. ...... Already said all that.

did ya ever come across dried onion bits [leaves] brewed as a tea - seriously - the ones you usually throw away - quite a well know yankie writer who used to live in HK recommends it or did on one of his scribes? he writes comic script books and newspaper series in HK about the chinese? - used to live on one of those lovely peaceful islands in the south china sea that I too loved once! - I digress! - I may be able to find you a link if you are really keen?

Good subject.

I have had neuropathy for years. First just in my feet but now also in my legs. Tried many things, none have worked. Suggestions welcomed.

I am no way over weight , I am 5 "10 and weigh about 125 lbs so that is out, sorry for those here that have it. I don't have diabeties in my family nor have I ever been told I have it and I have had tons of blood work which is mostly shows good results.

Actually I agree. Most auto immune disorders have this as a major symptom.
Suggestions- keep the blood circulating.
Walk daily. Do stretches daily and get a muscle stimulator or a TENS unit. They can really help a lot with this. Ask your doctor to test you for auto immune disease. Be persistent until you get the answers you are looking for. Eating an anti inflammatory diet helps a lot since inflammation causes pain and poor circulation.

I'm an aphrodisiac ?
An aphrodisiac is a substance alleged to increase sexual desire, sexual attraction, sexual pleasure, or sexual behavior.

The ****** is the s-e-x-u-a-l. I’m not sure why we aren’t allowed to use that word. I thought this was a senior forum for adults. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø anyway I truly don’t understand your post.

Same here. I pretty much just have the numbness in my feet and outer side of my legs...almost to the hip. There is no medication available for numbness. Holistic remedies are like a hole that you throw money into....

yeas I think you just about summed it up PP - modern living styles - modern so called 'diets' - fastfoods ; couch potatoes - car fumes etc etc - country living gotta be the best

best we keep an eye on EC - with all his money he's gotta find a cure? - we need to join his fan club base?

the Gabapentin can help a lot - I started with schedule 10 drugs - which I could have stayed on for life and floated up stream as the beatles once invited but got stopped wisely by the doc and out on Gabapention - top dose three times a day and they work fine - but horses for courses. - the illness is an auto-immune disease of unknown causation - the body turns on itself and in this case attacks nerve supply anywhere - often affecting the legs. my legs feel numb most times and I have braised the skin a few times and they heal slow so beware and take care.
