Don't forget the ENGLISH IVY....that plant is just as dangerous as those listed...I went thru 8 months of he!! getting rid of a rash
from that stuff.....

When I was a child, I got near and touched one of those weeds, and my arms were messed with blisters and and sores for several weeks.

FYI, I went for sixty one years and never contracted it. I even laid down butt naked in it without getting it. My girlfriend got it bad though. Then I moved to where I am living now and got it. From what I gather different plants have different toxicity.

When I was younger, I don't remember being fearful of coming in contact with any of these at all -- but in old age (after 60's), I learned the hard way how painful a poison oak rash can be .... . And how hard it is to get rid of!I was the only one in my family that could pull it off trees and off the ground.

This was at my home that I sold 6 years ago as I was clearing out the backyard.
Just glad that is all history.

When I was a little kid, we all had forts, made from whatever. Then we'd attack each other's forts. I found a place for my fort way off in a field with bushes. The kids attacked my fort and the next day that had poison ivy rashes. I didn't. Don't know why. But the kids never attacked my fort again.

I got poison oak numerous times as a kid and teenager. I had to get on prednisone a couple of times it was so bad.

Burning it is very bad. You can actually get it from the smoke, I'm told.

Every year I’d get poison ivy but I think I got it from my dogs walking in it. The last two years I haven’t gotten it. Yayy!
