As far as I know, no King or Queens has attended a US presidential inauguration. Hard to know if any have been invited. Those events are most important to fellow countrymen.

Diana brought the British royal family to center stage in the US.

Pre-Diana, most of us knew the bare minimum about the modern RF, including that the queen had a passel of kids and Charles was the heir. TBH, I couldn't have told you the names of any of her other children, didn't know if they were married, and didn't even know Philip's name, but was aware she was married.

It doesn't matter to me. I couldn't care less but I guess that to many folks this is a really big issues. If she is invited, I'll live. If she isn't invited, I'll live too! So, to me it's not an issue. Sorry all ya "Royal Watchers." Don't mean to offend you!

No offence taken .. I don't much care either if she's invited, ultimately she's the mother of his 2 nieces, and the Queens grandchildren.. so it does sem pretty petty not to invite here.. but she has caused a lot of problems for the RF so I suppose that's their reasoning..
