I've read it's a rival to Shein, and shein is pretty much In my experience anyway..where the quality of goods is pot luck..leaning towards the poor.. quality..altho' I have had a couple of things from them which were pretty good for the price.

I've read online reviews where the main complaints about Temu seem to be that it's slow shipping, and that good are inadequately packed so often arrive damaged..

Has anyone shopped with them ?....

In fact aside from big corporate giants like Amazon.. what is your favourite online store..

No, but their ads come up - a lot when I am on SF. In fact I can see one now below where I'm typing this. Mostly ladies clothing right now...

I have done a little comparison shopping with Amazon and prices are competitive, maybe lower. Its mostly those irritating popups I keep seeing that stops me from buying from Temu...

I have never seen their ADS because I have an AD blocker on my computer so I see N o ads on any website or forum that I'm on...

I've heard you say that before, and I am thinking of looking into it. My fear is that I'd end up getting more ads that way. Happened to me with viruses when Windows first came out and I've been wary every since.

When I google "AD blocker" I see lots of different things, which do you use and recommend?

One of my favorites is Etsy. I have found lots of unique things there.
be careful with Etsy.. it started off very well supposed to be somewhere where most things are made by the sellers.. now it has as many fakes on it as Ebay. In fact many Etsy sellers buy things from other online places..Amazon et al.. and sell it for increased prices on Etsy. Many sellers have been reported but Etsy seems to ignore what's going on

No, I never heard of Temu.com.
Aside from Amazon, I've used Walmart, Chewy 2x (for doggie) and once- Wayfair.
You've never used Shein or Aliexpress?.. they're all Chinese.. and all much cheaper than Amazon or Ebay for most things.. altho' you do have to be a little bit choosy.. . Aliexpress takes a while to deliver, it can be up to 6 weeks.. Shein is usually within a week...

Clothing from Shein is pretty dire...

I find it best to compare an item on Shein with the same item on Amazon or Ebay.. it's usually cheaper but not always, but you get to read better reviews on Amazon. On Shein people get ''paid in points' towards their next purchase if they leave a review that gets lots of ''helpful votes''... so none of the reviews are worth the paper they're written on...

Be careful of those companies. Apparently shein uses slave labor labor by the Uighurs Who are kept in concentration camps. The reason that the stuff on temu is so cheap is probably the same reason. Buy locally if you can and from trusted manufacturers. just my two cents. It’s one of the rare things that I feel somewhat strongly about.

Sadly Amelia, they say the same thing about our biggest High street stores.. doesn't matter where you shop tbh, it seems everyone uses cheap labour from Abroad.. :(

I am generally purchasing handmade things, original greeting cards and things like that. Also, some very unique jewelry is there.

That’s true, but some of them are more egregious than others. Like some chocolate companies using actual slaves in Africa and shein using actual slaves in China. It’s just heartbreaking I guess.

Yes, I have. Some things you get online are okay, but be careful about clothes. Sizes are iffy...
yes the clothing seems to be a problem with most of these discount chinese stores. Aside from the sizing, the quality of material isn't good. I had a couple of pieces from both Shein and Aliexpress.. I donated them..

This app promises you can ‘shop like a billionaire.’ But is there a catch?

With Temu you can “shop like a billionaire,” an ad promises.

U.S. lawmakers meanwhile are suspicious of the Chinese e-commerce company — it went from unknown to the most downloaded app in the country in a matter of months.

The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission released a report last month singling out Temu and Shein, the popular fast-fashion retailer, as two Chinese companies of concern over issues related to exploitation of trade loopholes, product safety, forced labor, violations of intellectual property rights and more.

yes Amazon of course is not one store, it's thousands of seprate stores... Wayfair is not CHinese...

yes I buy handmade rings for my arthritis ( splint rings) which are pretty,.. but do make sure you're dealing with someone who is not reselling from another website.. or even Pound stores...
