Watching The Coronation of King Charles lll and Queen Camilla

I saw a few pictures online and looked at the beautiful pictures that @hollydolly posted. Almost like a fairy tale to watch, and a lot more interesting than our presidential inaugurations here in the states.
One clip that has caught people’s attention shows some kind of mysterious figure walking past the doorway after the Royal Guards have marched inside. They are saying it is one of the clergy involved in the ceremony, but the reason people are intrigued is that it looks like the Grim Reaper walking past the doorway.
I watched the video, and then took a screenshot as he walked past the door, so the rest of the picture is kind of blurry. Maybe Holly knows who this person actually would be , dressed like that ?

yes I do know..lol..:D. Westminster Abbey identified the figure as a verger, a member of the abbey community who assists with religious services but who is not a member of the clergy.

Basically a verger is the Vicar's helper..

I enjoyed it all. I've really warmed to Camilla, she has a truly beautiful smile. Good luck to them both.

May I say I worry for Harry, his mental health. He has become a lonely figure, cut off from his family. His wife has cut herself off from her own family too.
If things had been ideal and he had the right wife, they and their children could have been there together as honoured members at this greatest of occasions.

What will become of him?

well Harry will lie in the rich bed he's made for himself using 30 pieces of silver, to sell his family down the river with lies....

His family will never trust him again so there will never be any time again in his life when he can confide in them or even have a private chat with them, because they fear his lies and invention to the press... he has no in-laws aside from His m-i-l to support him either, because his wife sold her family for the same 30 pieces of silver...

.. so henceforth he will make fair-weather friends throughout his life... even new friends will be wary of them both, having seen what they're capable of.. so I expect any friendships for the whole rest of their lives will be extremely shallow..

I can see when they (Camilla & Charles) look at each other that they are very much in love with each other.
They were an item when they were young, Pepper, they wanted to get
married, but the "Establishment", wouldn't allow it to happen, because
Camilla was a commoner, they chose Diana, to be his wife, because her
family were part of the "Gentry".

Looking at the Royal Family, those who had their spouse chosen for them,
by civil servants, all were divorced, Princess Ann from Mark Philips, Prince
Andrew from Fergie and King Charles from Diana, when he was a prince,
Prince Edward chose his own bride and they are still married, same for some
of the younger Royals.

The Establishment have a lot to answer for, they made many mistakes.

Mike.

The Coronation concert was a massive success tonight...held in the grounds of Winfsor castle, with all the guests of the Abbey ceremony.. and some extras..

The King and Queen took centre stage for the Coronation Concert - and got carried away with their family waving the Union Flag as well as dancing, singing and clapping to Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and a spectacular Take That finale.

Charles III and his wife Camilla also laughed uproariously at Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog, who even appeared in the royal box with them before the stage and Windsor Castle were turned a patriotic red, white and blue.

The couple were roared throughout by the 20,000-strong crowd, who did three cheers for the King and Queen when they arrived as the sun set for the show beamed into homes in 100 countries around the world.

And as night fell, the royals donned their glowstick wristbands, got to their feet and started dancing to Lionel, as he sang All Night Long. Katy Perry belted out hits including Roar before Take That closed the spectacular show that included Shakespeare, ballet and a drone show reflecting the monarch's love of the environment, culminating in a blue whale soaring over the castle.

At the finale, choristers of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, sang the opening to Take That's song Never Forget, which gave the show an uplifting finale.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte clapped along with the song before the King also joined in - and there was a dancing Queen, as Camilla moved to the music. The royal couple then held up their Union flags as the concert came to a close, with William tickling George's nose with his.

It is indeed a shame.

Wonderful pictures, thanks for sharing. I have not watched any of the ceremony yet. As funny as it sounds I am still obsessed with Charles and Diana's wedding. I have never liked Camilla. She may be a fine person but both she and Charles decided to cheat. I know that they both enjoy the outdoors, get along okay. That still changes nothing. Diana may have it done it as well in a reaction to Charles behavior.

I just don't agree with anyone cheating. They should leave the marriage first and then, only then pursue another person. Only then can a married couple step out and be ufaithful if it is to be ignored/agreed to before the marriage.

That was very sad to see. He should have been there with his family.
I'm It was a Coronation not a barbeque for God's sake!

I don't agree with cheating either, but do realize from reading lots of British authors through the years that through hundreds of years that the UK and European royals and aristocracy pretty much all cheated and it was acceptable to most. In fact, for women, they were closely guarded as chaste maidens but got the freedom to play around once married. It was customary at weekend parties at the great country houses for a servant to go through the halls softly ringing a gong at dawn so bed hoppers could creep back to their assigned bedrooms. It's certainly not the group I'd want to be a part of but Charles and Diana were born into it and their affairs would've been understood by people in their circle. Their trouble was that they were indiscreet about their affairs. Better that they'd never had them from my point of view, but if they were going to play around, they should've played by the rules of their set and kept things discreet saving their loved ones--especially the children--a lot of pain and shame.

I haven't watched everything yet but so far my favorite parts have been William's devotion to his father and watching his beautiful family. I loved King Charles' emotion when William pledged his oath to his father and also William's tribute to his father at the concert. The kids were adorable and behaved so well.

A ver poll y ramshackle affair compared to the last and .

A quick Saturday morning dash along the Mall and home in time for tea. Everything done with unseemly haste and little regard for tradition and ceremony

Te one bright spot oh Charlotte, as close to a real life fairy Princess as most of us are ever likely to see.

In I'll keep my memories of 1953
