New Chinese website/app .... TEMU

I would if I could but its pretty hard these days. @Gaer where do you buy from?
Just do everything in my power to not do anything to prosper the Communist Chinese Government.
Search where the product is made before purchasing it if it is at all possible.
My personal actions probably don't make much if any difference, but if everyone in America
stopped buying products made in China, it might make a dent. We have to TRY!

I think the competition will be good for Amazon. I think they have gone from almost always the lowest price for something to ... well not.

Sounds like bad news to me, not good competition ....

According to Time, despite its popularity due to these promotions and low prices, Temu is also starting to develop a reputation for undelivered packages, mysterious charges, incorrect orders, and unresponsive customer service.[5] Temu used a variety of online ads on Facebook and Instagram. According to TechCrunch, "These ads appear to be working to boost Temu's installs. But dig into the app's reviews and you'll find similar complaints to Wish, including scammy listings, damaged and delayed deliveries, incorrect orders and lack of customer service."[6] In a March 2023 review for Tom's Guide, the reviewer recommended against ordering any glassware from the company as the packaging was poor; some of the products were broken or cosmetically damaged.[7]

That should keep them from doing very well. Amazon isn't perfect, but its pretty good.

Makes sense, I probably don't try as hard as you do, but when given a reasonable choice I try to go with US or one of our allies made things.

Of course your actions make a difference, without a lot of folks like you nothing would happen.

When I had my lingerie store I only bought American. On purpose, and that was a million years ago.

Gosh @Pepper ... is this what you sold?;)

My sister ordered a bunch of stuff from TEMU and was very disappointed. I doubt they'll be popular for much longer.

Lots of Amazon's stuff is made in China, too, but if this is a war between them and TEMU, Amazon will come out on top unless China changes their agreements and contracts. That could happen if the CCP controls TEMU. But they probably benefit more off Amazon.
