I don't think so, in my limited time here I seen several people leave and some come back. There are always new folks to replace them.

I think that's just the nature of these online forums.
Very true. I've been here almost six years and have seen a lot of folks come and go.
Some leave in a huff and return without an explanation - they simply reappear as if they'd been active throughout.
Some explain why they're leaving.
Some are banned for repeatedly breaking rules of civility or engaging in political discussions.
Some get themselves banned after taking umbrage to a warning shot being fired, slamming the door on their way out.
Some quietly drift off into the night without a word to anyone and many of us worry they may have become ill or passed away.

I've only been here since Christmas and I've already seen most of these scenarios played out at least once. 😊 No, scratch that "most"... just read over your list again, @StarSong , and I've seen every one of these.

Yup.

When people leave in a huff it puts me in mind of my brother's ex-wife.

My parents threw a lot of big parties and during the planning stages, SIL would harrumph, "Just so you know, I'm not coming if so-and-so will be there."

My mother, about as sweet a woman as you can imagine, tried to gently cajole SIL a few times, but after a while Mom's stock response was, "I'm sorry to hear that you feel that way. We'll miss you."

One time, someone on SIL's rather extensive sh!t list came to a party and apparently SIL didn't expect him to be there. She left the house and sat in the car during the entire party while my brother and the rest of us enjoyed ourselves. So ridiculous.

Needless to say, the marriage didn't last very long.

While I didn't care for that SIL, having her in the family for a short time taught me some valuable life lessons.
