Given a Choice, When Would You Have Liked to Have Been Alive?

Given the choice .. when would you have liked to have been alive ?.... well I think probably I wouldn't have minded being alive at birth.. I wasn't I was stillborn along with my twin brother.. born 2 months premature, at 2 pounds.. the Doctors could only save one... and that was a miracle in itself back in the mid 50's

I loved the sixties but I was just a kid so I couldn't fully enjoy it. I would like to have been born 10 years earlier so I could have done that.

My wife always called me a middle aged hippie! Mainly because I liked the Rolling Stones and would pound the steeriung wheel to the tune of "Satisfaction!" Seriously, I cheered them on, too bad many turned into yuppies in the years to come!

I'm always happy I was born in the late 50's. I was a kid in the 60s, reached adulthood in the 70's, loved the 80's and the invention of MTV, became responsible in the 90's and the rest is history. Most of these decades were also without the internet and Social Media, so I learned to entertain myself without the need for a laptop or a smart phone. I'm glad to have them now, but I'm also glad I'm not dependent on them like today's youth.

I liked the '60s and '70s but not much after that... up until now, that is. These are exciting times with the introduction of ubiquitous Ai and all of its associated potential Here is a poem about living in the 21st century, written by Bard:

The 21st century is a time of great change,
With technology advancing at a rapid pace.
We can now communicate with people all over the world,
And access information at the touch of a button.

But with all this change comes a sense of uncertainty,
As we try to figure out our place in this new world.
We are constantly bombarded with new ideas and stimuli,
And it can be difficult to know what to believe.

In this time of change, it is important to remember
That we are not alone. We are all in this together,
And we can find strength in each other.

We must embrace the change that is happening around us,
And use it as an opportunity to grow and learn.
We must be open to new ideas,
And be willing to challenge our own beliefs.

The 21st century is a time of great potential,
And it is up to us to shape the future.
Let us use this time to create a better world,
For ourselves and for future generations.

I am a little bit nervous about "all of us being together" since most young people are in a world of their own, barely noticing what is going on around them because they are busy with their iPhones! I see a very isolated society coming up. Sorry for being so gloomy but those phones are very addictive! They are a boon and a curse at the same time!

I was born in 1939, and I would say that now is the best time. Medical care is the best today than when I was born. When I was born the idea of a personal computer was in no ones mind, yet today obviously everyone here has at least one! We have about 4 computers and 2 tablets in our house.......they all work, unheard of when I was born!! TV was just beginning when I was born in fact I never saw one until I was 10, then there were a couple of channels NOW there seem to be hundreds of channels. So as mostly shut in, entertainment is big to me, along with my first entertainment love... books, but they have been around much longer.

Wow, thanks for sharing. Definitely a miracle!

I have a friend who always complains about the way things are today...the technology one is expected to maneuver, the lack of pride in workmanship anymore, the increasing traffic in her once quite resort town, etc. She wishes she could have been born before her grandmother's time. Not me! I don't think I would have done well back then, especially as a Black person. I'm happy to have been born when I was (1947) and be alive in this day and age. I hope to live at least another decade to see what technological advances are to come.
