What have you bought recently?

Bought 2 pairs of tennis shoes at DSW & 2 bags of groceries from Trader Joe's. I only get to Trader Joe's a couple times a year & I hadn't been to DSW in a couple years. These stores are 1 1/2 hours from me & as I've gotten older I'm not doing as much running around. I mostly order online as it's easier to find what I need as opposed to going from store to store to store & still not finding it.

Tennis shoes, I've been shoe buying. Sometimes you can search and search and not find what you want, other times what you want will pop up when you are not searching. These heritage spectator shoes are a case in point. Ordered them as soon as they appeared.

Torrential rain today..skies black as coal, very loud thunder and forked lightening...

I made corned beef hash for dinner from scratch.. , and watched one of my Recorded TV shows, and while I was having dinner, the delivery guy knocked the door with 2 kimonos I bought to take to the beach.. . One's a jacket style, the other is dress style

Poor delivery guy was pretty drenched, I told him I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew he was going to have to deliver it in such treacherous weather... he's a good guy this company , always pleasant
Oh Shame, sunshine all day here South of the Thames and North Downs,
Purchased seven light bulbs and some wood stain, now I am cracking up. Well, I can't buy a bra every day.
Cleaned the horse's head.

Today I had to buy a clothes dryer because my old one bit the dust yesterday. I remember when I moved here 10 yrs ago I had to have a new washer but I brought my dryer along because I thought it probably had a couple of years left in it and now I see that it had 10. So, I guess I shouldn't complain but I hate to spend money on things like that.

Did you know you can buy a 'smart' dryer now? I'm sure you probably did and you can easily spend well over $1,500 and up for a dryer, that amount being before you add on the new vent hose, new plug and new other things that you are required to buy plus sales tax. The 'smart' dryer has built in wi-fi and it will notify your phone how your laundry is progressing. You can start or stop the dryer from your phone. And some dryers have a steam feature and can sterilize your clothing. I didn't look to see how much that is.

Needless to say, I did not buy a 'smart' dryer. I bought a basic dryer large enough to dry a blanket but with very few bells and whistles. It has different cycles and a moisture sensor to tell when clothes are dry. That's enough for me. I used to have a clothesline.

Most of my 2023 (non-food and standard household goods) purchases in 2023 have been in the costly category. Just added it up in my checking account. New side gates and handyman maintenance work for us and a safety fence for DS's pool (to keep baby grandson safe) came to over $8200 and it's only May. Eek! Hoping nothing else comes up anytime soon.

Feeling way behind... I never heard of the pink stuff never mind the green stuff! No idea what a scrub daddy is either.
Yeah, I guess I had heard of the Pink Stuff but never paid too much attention. I saw a knock off at Dollar Tree yesterday labeled "Pink Paste" and bought a jar. Have not used it yet. Our US Amazon site does not list the Good One so not available here apparently.

@hollydolly I thought I said on the what are you doing thread...I had a UTI and had to leave work early this morning to get it diagnosed and a scrip before going back to work. The meds are already working. Yay. UTIs are the curse of the elderly, or so I'm told. I think somebody's trying to tell me that I'm among the elderly:mad:

My wonderful wicked stepmother used to say that the older we get, the further away we are from old age.

A customer, friend of Sir, was in this morning. We were all chatting, and she said she bet I could hardly wait to turn 65 so I could retire. I ❤️ Sir's friend😘

Oh...and the scrip was free. That is, no charge. No $$. Free. Free is a very popular price with me!

Sorry GiGi.. I musta missed that being as I've been out since early this morning. Bloomin' 'eck.. I'm not looking forward to that part of getting old.. jeez... . !! Fortunately Prescriptions are Free here too for everyone over 60...

How long will it take for the UTI to feck off.. :sneaky:

I just bought a iPhone 14 pro. Got a pretty good deal. Wanted the large size plus my old phone was about to age out any way.

@hollydolly Meds already hard at work, and I feel a whole lot better. I take one capsule twice a day for five days. Once it's gone, it's gone. Until the next time. Ugh.

Limit caffeine and stay away from carbonated beverages, which I do. I never drink anything carbonated and haven't for many years...like maybe 40?...and only one cup of coffee first thing in the morning. And lots of water. Lots and lots of water. I drink lots of water. Lots and lots of water. Don't know what else I can do. If I stop getting old...well...we know what that means!

that's such a pity . clearly carbonated drinks and coffee are not the cause of your problems, so you need to find out (other than age).. what really is causing it...

While at Walmart yesterday, I also came across the Pink Stuff, way on the bottom shelf. It just happened to catch my eye, otherwise, I wouldn't have noticed either.

It seems like they had it in the paste form and may be a spray?

Got that birthday present purchased. It took forever and it was painful. I hate wasting money just because I have to. Ended up buying 4 cotton napkins and a small notebook that goes with the theme. If nothing else, when she donates them or puts in the garage sale, they should be sellable.
