Do we really know what we look like?

One trick with selfish or video chats is to position the camera up high so you're looking up to it. At our age everything is droopy and wrinkly, looking up let's gravity pull that skin tight on your face and neck so you look at least a few years younger!
One time I leaned over a mirror laying on a table. BIG mistake. HUGE mistake. Reminded of the Golden Girls episode when Blanche looks in a mirror and is horrified.

Trust me...I know how you feel Blessed! I had lost 26 pounds and probably put 15 back on. When pictures were taken of me at the Black History exhibit and my friend during his show's intermission, I was horrified when I saw how fat I looked. :cautious: I photograph so much better with those 15 pounds gone! If it's any consolation, the camera does put 10 pounds on people.
@Nathan IMO selfies always look strange. Eg: If I'm wearing a wrap that's somewhat high...it doesn't look as high in a selfie, which throws off the look I'm trying to achieve. Also, they come out looking grainy.
@caroln I always thought "Blanch" was a strange looking woman. 😳

After spending 12 weeks in hospital after a fall that resulted in 4 broken bones in my left leg, followed by liver problems, and getting a new cardiac pacemaker, and losing just under 100 pounds of body weight........I don't look at all like I did in March of 2023 when I fell. I am now at the lowest body weight of my adult life ( 195 ). I can now walk without a cane or walker, but slowly. All of my clothes are way too big for me now. I used to have a 46 inch waist, now it is 36 inches. Even my shoes are too big now. On the bright side, my pacemaker has resulted in my BP, heart rate, O2 perfusion and body temperature all now being with in normal values. I have made sure my Wife takes lots of photos of me in my new body. I look at this as an opportunity to restart my life, with a different food plan of diabetic foods, and no more alcohol consumption. My Driver's license photo will have to be re shot, as my current appearance has little relation to what I used to look like. JimB.
good for you ...losing it has been a killer for me....dont drink smoke drug or chase the girls- whats left ...food! seems to be a daily thing with me low intake of the right stuff ...about a lb a day....I can work with that.
