G'mornin' back at ya Peps.... what time is it there ?..it's 11.35 am here... glorious day... if a little breezy, but my rear garden is entirely enclosed ..so get hardly any wind there... so I'll likely just get some trees trimmed today...Happy Birthday to your grandson..5 already..wow!!
His actual BD is Tuesday. On that day he will also have a party IN school and then a celebration with close family and friends!

My DIL had 4 serious miscarriages before giving birth to my grandson. His life is so treasured by our little family.

I picked out a nice outfit for today, and if I do say so myself, I'm lookin' good!

Morning all folks.......it is 48F here this morning...brrrr....but
sun is shining, I guess my lawn guy will be here today as it
rained all day friday....dunno yet whats on tap for today...
slept pretty good...still got some rash, but no pain left yay.,..
today would be my late Wife's b'day, 84th...so Happy Birthday
Bea .>!!!!!!:)

Just spent a couple of hours cutting back the trees nearest the house in the garden...I was wearing a sleeveless top, because when I initially went out there, it was blue..blue skies.. and really warm.. but within a short time, it clouded over, and started to feel a little chilly..

Anyway I got it all done, and all the bigger branches sawn up. I was going to cut the lawn, but it really doesn't need it , but lots of detritus from the leaves etc are on there.. so I'll get the mower out later , or maybe tomorrow.. and just do a light top trim..

The sun is back out again.. and the blue skies are back.. little windy tho''...

Got a pic ?:D

I think I will join you, I picked up a Dan Baldacci novel the other day. But first must reset clocks, power outage last night.
I haven't visited the library for about 3 or 4 years now.. I was always there.. every 3 weeks I would take out a whole bunch of books.... Now since the library is less about books and more about computers I don't go..instead I buy books..

Last week I got 2 good ones.. a 710 page Tome by Robert Hardman, on the life of the Queen up to her death...

..and another hardback 358 pages.. ''My life stories'' by James Patterson...

I went to the garden centre early this morning and got a red geranium
to put in a pot on my deck.
Also got a lavender plant and put it in my garden.
I only have a small garden space but I still want to get two dianthus plants
because they bloom all summer and will come back next spring.
I love gardening.

After looking at my calendar, I’m not doing anything. The only thing I really need to do is put the shoelaces back in the runners I washed a couple of days ago. Times are tough.

edit: things aren’t really tough. I’m just need to finish my coffee and get moving. Something always comes up that needs doing, just not as exciting as those shoe laces.

Having nothing much else to do today, I checked out the open house of our water district <https://www.wmwd.com/649/Water-Works-Wonders-Event> They gave away free water-saving products for home use <wmwd.com/H2ODepot> Then there were free snow cones, drinks, and hamburgers. Many educational exhibits were related to water usage, like Riverside County Waste Resources <https://rcwaste.org> offering free classes and handouts, in the same way as the University of California Master Gardner Program of Riverside County (email questions to anrmgriverside@ucanr.edu) or visit such websites as <https://ipm.ucanr.edu> or simply <https://ucanr.edu> OK, I went home with a bag full of educational materials, like on termites, gophers and ants of which we have more than I can count. I am attaching some pictures of kids painting rocks or having their faces painted. Sheriff Deputies even let kids inside their cruiser as a PR gesture. So once my shoes had their laces back in, I found lots of different little chores. Needed a couple of grocery items so decided to walk to the store. It’s about half a mile. When I started out I realized I didn’t have my hat. Not a problem because it’s a beautiful day and I was slathered in sunscreen. Noticed some black clouds when I was nearly at the store. 5 minutes into my return trip, the skies opened up. No hat to deflect the rain. My sunscreen was running down my face and I kept my over-glasses on to keep the rain off my regular glasses. Found a place to hover under for a few minutes and then continued on looking like a drowned rat. Since I now had clothes to dry, I did a couple of loads of laundry.

Flowers planted and one step closer to my vision of the way I want the garden to look. Lawn mowed. Why is there always that one blade of grass that won't stand up to get mowed? One darned blade! There it is, right in the middle of the nicely mowed lawn. Grrrr.

DD insisted that she had to get out of the house so we went to andThat! For those of you who live on the east side of the US, it's also known as Christmas Tree Shops. Imagine our surprise when we got there to be greeted by signs in all the windows announcing that the store is closing! Closing? How can that be? I'm positively desolate! Life will never be the same without andThat!

We love that store; it's a great place to just wander around and find all kinds of stuff that you didn't know you absolutely have to have. The best stuff is the seasonal merchandise...name the holiday and they have something to celebrate it.

So far, the discounts are mostly 10% except for holiday-themed items at 30%-40%.

When we got home, I did a little Googling and discovered that it's owned by Bed Bath & Beyond. Figures. BB&B just declared bankruptcy and is closing all their stores. I don't give a rip about BB&B, but andThat! ? Whatever shall we dooooooooooooooo?

😭

lol..why are you worried ?.. you never spend money except when you're spending on plants and Ice-cream... :sneaky::D

But @hollydolly, you just don't understand! If I'm all but broke, like $20 in my pocket, and want to shop, I can go there and find something that I can't live without. Or something DD can't live without. And when there's nowhere else to go to play, andThat! is just the place to go.

Could not find my umbrella so..
Took doggie out in the rain. She really had to go.

Ran to the store for a few things I needed for tomorrow when the rain stopped... drove home in the rain. Brought bags into the house...in the rain.

Realized my phone was not in my bag after emptying it twice.

Went out to the car in the rain to search. Twice.

Searched all over the house. Used Facebook to call my GS to ask that he ring my phone; nothing.

Went out to the car AGAIN, in the rain, for him to call my phone; nothing.

He called the store I went to, nothing.

Finally, I had to face walking up the sidewalk to the woods where I took doggie earlier, in the goddam RAIN!

Entered the path and suddenly heard the sound of my phone. My head swiveled toward the sound....there it was again and with a flash of light! My phone! I rescued it and walked back to my house, in the rain.

I have no rice, so I set it in barley. I can make calls, texts and receive same, but no one understands my voice. Finally, I shut it off.

Baked a frozen pizza, made a drink and finally relaxed.
