Does anyone crave something that's no longer available?

A fuzzy-skinned, fleshy, sweet and juicy, freestone peach. Last time I ate one of those was at an open farmers market way down in SoCal about 5 years ago, and it tasted just like a fuzzy freestone peach should....euphoric.

Now it's successor, the nectarine, doesn't taste as good as it used to.

And please don't get me started about apricots!

What the hell is even happening?

Postum has been reintroduced.
" The beverage is available in single-serving packets and jars. It is available in three flavors, such as cocoa, coffee, and original flavor. For now, it’s readily available at Natural Grocers, Walmart, Kroger, H-E-B, Albertsons, and Ingles. In addition, online websites also have it in stock."

Well, how about that! Thanks!

My daughter got me hooked on Black Cherry Fresca, then shortly thereafter they stopped making it.

My kids were all about 7-Up Spice, but it was available in stores for only a few months.

Turns out the 7-Up people were just testing the market. And seems my kids were among only a few who liked 7-Up Spice.
Tell you what, though, it was a great mixer. Vodka, rum, whiskey...they all tasted good with 7-Up Spice.

Mountain Dew made with real cane sugar. They brought it back about 10 years ago & called it "Mountain Dew Throwback" & then it stopped around 2019. Checked with the company & found out they rebranded it to "Mountain Dew made with Real Sugar" & with all of the supply issues it was hard to find. When I did find it, I stocked up. Now for the past year I can't find it. I have one 12-pack left & drink it like a fine wine.

Metal gas cans for your lawnmower! They lasted almost forever, and were easy to use. Mower cans now are almost all plastic, I just had one leak at the molded seams, and they have blasted “safety valves” that make them harder to use…Grrr!

You can get replacement spouts and relief valves for those new cans that spray blinding gas in your eyes if the can is left in the sun for a few minutes. Go to https://gasspouts.com/ I have switched all of mine out.

There was a local Chinese buffet restaurant that had this hot mustard. It had a slightly chemical taste, but a good taste. When you ate it, it cleared your sinuses- ya knew you just ate mustard!!!!!!!! The new Chinese place doesn't have that mustard.
I can still get it at Walmart in the asian food section.

I crave such a lot I think : my parents conversations and contact ; regular contact with family and friends ; love of peace and quiet when traffic was less ; internet was not available or even thought of ; youth of course ; old or previously young companions ; teen years {were the best} ; current family contacts which are now sparse and inbetween. that will do for now!

The best I can say about apricots these days is that I can tell it's a fruit. That's all.

What I crave is not a food but a thing. I so desperately miss those trash cans with all the holes punched into the sides. You'd load them with fallen leaves in the autumn and set them on fire. The smell was heavenly. And it was so much easier than raking 70 bags of leaves and shoving them into plastic bags and leave them strewn all over the sidewalks.

It has a pit and it's kind of wet, so, could be an avocado for all I know.

I remember those burn barrels. The holes allowed air circulation so the leaves at the bottom would burn.

I have to admit, I love the smell of burning wood and leaves (controlled). I wonder if that's in our DNA, coded in our ancient memories, an essence of the ages before electric heat?
