I hope this isn’t taken as political. It’s just me doing a little ranting. Parts of the new debt ceiling plan are understandable and agreeable. However, it seems that each time the budget or the debt ceiling on a money spending bill is raised in Congress, the VA and VA benefits gets cut. It’s not a perfect or even a good system now. This is the reason that for other than purchasing medications, I don’t use it.
Back when I tried the VA, I would get a different doctor each time I would go there. I guess there’s a reasonable answer for that, but I found life to be better if I had the same doctor tor each time. It’s kind of like changing barbers. They have to learn how I like my hair cut before they satisfy me. That can take anywhere from 6-12 months.
Not only cutting VA benefits, why doesn’t Medicare ever get anything added to it? I’m not on Medicare, but guys in my poker club talk about it all the time. They say that nothing has been added to Medicare for years. One gentleman made the comment that he shouldn’t have to buy an Advantage package to get glasses and dental coverage. I thought all Seniors got that, but I guess I was wrong. I know Medicare and Social Security eat a big part of the budget, but I also have heard that Congress has borrowed billions from those agencies. How did we allow that to happen?
Finally, we also included a truck of money for Ukraine. Really?
Thank you.
