For our Brit friends --- Heathrow strikes?

We're going to be in England for a few weeks and returning to U.S. during one of the Heathrow strike dates. Anyone know how bad things get during those strikes? Any advice? Of course, we'll show up at the airport several hours early to get through security. Thanks.

Most of the strikes will be at the weekends. If travelling mid week, there is less discomfort. Your plan to arrive early is a good one.
