Most of the elements in your body were formed inside a star. So when you're looking up at the night sky, you are stardust gazing at stardust.
What else blows your mind?

One of my early buddhist lessons taught that on death our chemical essences return to the stars leaving the shell behind - sounds OK to me! - fly me to the moon where I can play among the stars heh!!

Well, I guess if the star you end up at goes super nova, it will literally blow your mind.

A couple of things blows my mind. In school, you learn the earth is spinning. But it's one thing to know stuff, but seeing it!!! At night you can track the stars as they "move" through the sky. The other is the Egyptian Pyramids- not that they are huge buildings, but the planning and executing of them- and how far back in history they are. They fed, clothed, housed, gave medical care for 20,000 workers and their families. They didn't even have the wheel.

It blows my mind to realize that phones cause sound to travel faster than the speed of sound.

And, unfortunately, with some of the idiots we have in charge these days, sound travels faster than the speed of intelligence......
