Agree. Keeps getting worse. Is why I now use Yahoo as my Firefox homepage. I especially don't like typing something on any search or URL bars and then moments later find some AI like thing has quickly added terms I didn't type. It is one thing to see a popup list one can more quickly choose from but not when it gets in my way. Same thing with some word processing apps. On my Android smartphone, Chrome has many annoying elements I am quick to put down and just use my laptop for accomplishing work. If I place my mouse cursor on a word, I prefer NOT to have it select the whole word. When search AI is able to suggest search results from simple language search bar entries versus a list of separately treated terms, I'll embrace such.
As someone that used non GUI UNIX text based computers for years before most people had ever touched a PC, I have a strong dislike for laptops with touchpads, trackballs, touchscreens, and the like. First thing I do with a new laptop is buy a Mouse and copy in a bunch of CMD Prompt commands for command line text based use.
