My Son Got Hit With A Credit Card Scam Text. Have You Gotten One?

Some cons I guess are impossible to stop, while others are just pathetic. However, it is getting worse, and I suspect it will only get far worse and wonder how it will all end in the future. My Sister's card con I mentioned was on a store card she never uses except once about a year ago when she took it out to get a discount offer. What could she do about that, adding she has been refunded?
Then again, some are pathetic, but somebody must be falling for them. Normally it is the lady from the USA with one con or another over the past three years. Alas, the lady tries hard to lose the USA accent, but I pick it up straight away.
My last one was a laff, my laptop did a funny and I get a message saying that via my open camera, they had filmed me watching pornographic material and carrying out sex acts which they would send to my friends and family. I replied brilliant, send it as bored this end and want something to watch.
What amazes me is that scammers keep finding new and inventive ways to scam people. It's too bad they don't put those creative minds to better use.

we get these all the time all hours of the day and night they just send out to everyone most all have been your account has been compromised most all the accounts are with places i never have had an account with....
but i imagine some of the recipients have an account if they feel rushed someone may decide to click on a link and that is all they want.
my daughter ha done said someone spent huge amount at Subway ... but the url in the link went to hotbabes.com

In my province in Canada, the phone double rings to notify you it is a long distance call. When I hear the double ring I just don't pick up the phone...it's either sales or a scam. And if it really is a legitimate call, they will leave a message.

My husb was scammed out of $1500. I tried to tell him, tell them to send you a bill showing the amount you owe and you will pay it. He didn't listen to me. He use to deal with those quick loan places years ago and we know they sell your info to anyone. Long story less long, they had all his info and threaten to proceed with legal actions if he did not pay. He paid. He asked for a receipt after he paid, which he never received. He went to work the next day and read something relating to the scam. They got him. What make it so bad, they tried again in a few weeks..but he did not fall for it again. They finally stopped calling. They felt he was an easy target, which he was. If we think it can't happen to us, think again. It can happen in a way we least expect.

I'm so sorry that these creeps scammed your husband.

Your last two sentences are so true. Thieves spend days, months and years figuring out how to fool, cheat and defraud others out of their assets. Their ideal targets are trusting, unsuspecting and quick to panic when threatened.
