This is one of my favorite wildflowers. I have no idea what it is, but I tend to like flower that grow on a spike (like snapdragons, etc). This one is extra tall this year!

Another wildflower that I like is the Spiderwart. Again, they are exceptionally big this year!

I finally found out what that first plant is!!! It's called: Hibiscus Trionum

Remember that I said butterflies love the Orange Glory flowers? All different kinds of butterflies come and go all day long. I was happy to see that we had a Zebra Tiger Swallowtail again this year! Although we do sometimes see them, they are not all that common.

I had to wait quite a while for this active guy to hold his wings still long enough for me to get the pictures! 😂

yes Im happy with these , first time Ive grown them and they all have Buds on ..Unlike some of the Cosmos which have been hit and miss , with some just not having any buds on . Ive read this sometimes happens for no particular reason ..
I grew Cosmos already started. The single variety, they are so beautiful,

More wildflowers at my house. The "Mullen" are having a very good year...they are everywhere! They are 6-8 feet tall!

This is the view from my bedroom window.

This is a small patch, by the chicken yard.

Here is a better look at the flowers.

I had never seen this plant (or maybe didn't notice it?) until we moved to Arkansas. Before we knew knew what it was, we called them "corn rows"!

Its foliage does look superficially like corn. Looks like we grow the same one which I believe is sold as Verbascum olympicum. One you have it you’ll always have it seemingly. I grow it out front in the space between the street and the sidewalk, what we call a hell strip. Mine from last year, no flowers yet this year. Nearly everything has been delayed.

LOL!!! I almost got a bee in my picture, too! If only he would have sat still for a second or two!

You are right, their real name is Verbascum olympicum. For us, it's a wild flower that grows in fields. I've never seen it as a garden plant....stunning!!!

I like to see my garden as a place where feral nature can still be seen and appreciated rather than as dominated by exhibiting the hand and will of man.
