Never Say Never! What Have You Done That You Said You'd Never Do (Again)?

Lady ( sorry for being off topic ).. but I'm interested in the bad rooms on a coach trip. Now I'm alone , I was just thinking the other day about going on coach trips, and wondered if I;d end up with rotten rooms.. or tables next to toilets in the restaurants... can you let me know which coach companies or hotels are the guilty of this please
@hollydolly
My local coach company I went with even if you paid a supplement the Single room you got was a dive ..Let me tell you the Seaside Hotels are the worse , the Travel Inns were the better .. they have a standard to keep up where as the Seaside Hotel are usually owned by the Proprietor,, so , small rooms like just enough for bed and bedside Table , Smelly Pillow , Bed that was pushed up to the joining wall toToilet when I put my head down to sleep the stink of urine .
At one Seaside Hotel , I let myself into the room and was just starting to unpack when There was a rumble of the Radiator , something out of a horror story .
I knew i wouldnt be able to sleep with that racket , so got my room changed to a better one ..when i looked online at reviews it was all about the room i was in with the banging radiator pipes . lol .

Personally I would never go with a coach company again unless they state its a 5* rating , Coach companies are mainly 3*Hotels .. thats the only way they can make a profit ..
If you can drive Holly go book your own accomadation , Airbnb or self catering from a reputable site , where you can view photos online , but even then treat them with caution , I put in 5* only now , I like clean more than anything .Hope that answers your questions.

As regarding eating on a Coach trip you are put on a table with others , I did try to have a Table to myself but soon got told Coach vistors in that area ..

thanks for all that @Lady... that's great to know. I already do book my own accommodation and drive myself.. but as you know our motorways are so jam packed now, it's not a pleasure to drive a long distance, so that's why I was thinking of coach trips... but I'll steer clear of those now... I would never accept a shoddy room..or forced to eat at a table with strangers,...nope that's a big no for me..

I've told myself many times to "never again" get into disagreements with anyone who may be suffering from oppositional defiant disorder and would argue with *anything* or worse, say mean things just for the sake of being mean. I always take it personally and I hate that about myself because I never seem to learn.
oppositional defiant disorder I like that term! ODD. At some point you'll get tired of doing that to yourself and feeling the aftermath. Been there..done that. 🤗

Actually, nothing I can think of easily. Saying never again is serious, or it should be. When I say "never again" I mean it! If I can think of something I said I'd never do again but have done, I will update. Okay? :giggle:
Okay Chic.
@Alizerine @Pinky I been there done that too, with not being paid back and giving the parties another chance. But one found out that I meant it when I said never again and unfortunately for him, it was at a time when money was really needed. My attitude was, it's not my problem, so you'd better find another lender.

Remodel.

The pain wears off after a decade and we do it again - just a partial, not a whole house remodel as we did the first time (THAT was killer, ugh!). And then we realize all over again why we don't do this more often......!!!!
yep I find the same with painting and decorating... arrgggh... why do I ever start it...after the pain of the last time. I liken it to childbirth in people.. horrendous while you're doing it but the quickest forgotten pain...until next time
