Don't ask me what it was because I can't remember, perhaps someone here will know.....ETA, I did a little research and it turns out to be a Mazda MX5

Love this car! I had 2 1968's the same color, 427 3x2 carb. Just got my first job out of college. It was stolen within 6 months (no garage). The thief just cut cut the plastic back window, crawled in and hot wired it. It was found near the San Pedro dock up on wood crates, stripped clean. I cried. I used the insurance money to buy another identical model. I eventually broke it by going to 'grudge nite' every Friday at the local dragstrip, racing anybody. I had cut-outs welded on so I could race without the muffler. It was really loud & a lot of fun, but the engine lost power & I sold it for a SS396. I cried a little less.

I loved the Italian Job. It's one of my favorite movies. The brainstorming that went into everything and how they pulled it off was amazing.
Loved the intro Bob, not just the driving but also the song words, they don't write them like that now "

Mecum Auto Auction is going on in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania right now through Saturday. It’s just a few hours to the north from where I am in Virginia. I have been to both auctions, Mecum and Barrett-Jackson. I bought a ‘’52 Chevrolet Deluxe from Mecum in Richmond right after I retired from the Marines. It was the darndest thing. I settled up with the clerk and a fellow ftom Texas approached me and asked if I would like to sell it. To me, everything had a price. I paid $23,000 for it and he offered me $26,000, plus the fees I paid for it. I was messing with him because I thought he was messing with me. I didn’t know he was the man I was bidding against for the car. I told him make it an even $30,000, plus the fees and the car was his. To my astonishment, he agreed. When I was getting ready to leave, I saw him talking to another man that turned out to be his truck driver. He had bought 7 vehicles. It’s what ge does for a living.

We got to talking and the next thing I knew, he invited me to have dinner with him, so I did. He goes to the auctions to buy cars, mostly, and then either sells them overseas to people like Sheiks, etc. He also sells some for his clients. What a great job.

I am a Corvette man. I have owned a few over the years. The newest editions are really sweet. Problem is, too much horsepower. Where are we supposed to drive them? They are made for the track, not the road.

Yeah, and I loved the boat chase scene, as well as the many twists and turns in the plot.
