I was thinking "If only all that youthful energy could be harnessed..."
Yeh if all that time online could be spent I don't know prepping for college, job applications, academic knowledge etc but no watch somebody else live their life.

Keep in mind these video game players are notorious for stimulant use for 2-3 day sessions. Have problem neighbors play 22 hours a day for 2-3 days at a time. All those I saw interviewed on the news weren't just amped up because of the riot either.

"Kai Cenat is magnetic.

In real life, the 21-year-old’s high energy is infectious but not obnoxious. It’s clear he’s less concerned with attention and more interested in entertaining his audience, whether that’s his loyal followers who tap in while he streams on Twitch for eight hours straight, or celebrities like Ice Spice, Lil Baby, and 21 Savage, whose guards come down when they spend an hour or two chilling with the Bronx native who now lives in Atlanta.

Because he’s a natural performer, he makes capturing the internet’s attention look easy, but it isn’t. Cenat started dabbling in content creation when he was in high school, posting short videos of himself on Vine and Instagram. In one he’s sleeping in a bodega.

Ugh. Now I feel compelled to view him.

First, who in this forum knows who Kai Cenat is? And before we all go "tsk tsk", you do remember the Beatles could no longer get hotel accommodations in the US, because their fans destroyed the building? Also, being stupid is a very human trait.
They were throwing chairs, bricks, stones etc, stomping on cars to the point where many felt for their safety. Beatles fans might have been wild but wild of yesteryear is not the 'wild' of today.

One report had them going to near by restaurants and throwing dishes. And at least one unidentified loud bang

A social media 'influencer'
..had to Google "influencer":
Code:
An Internet celebrity (also known as a social media influencer,
social media personality, internet personality, or influencer) is a celebrity
who has acquired or developed their fame and notability on the Internet.

Kai Cenat

Google search results: Kai Cenat

Well the pending criminal charges will be a minor inconvenience compared to the huge boost his career will receive.

I saw a couple stories of 'influencer' super moms passing away but at least their videos, chats, etc were instructional with diets, fitness routine etc. This guy basically plays games and opines on what ever.

It's one thing to kill time but it's another to 'kill' time with somebody else's life.

Someone here should become a ”social media influencer.” They could call themselves “Gray Wolf” or whatever, and pontificate on line about where to get the best “Early Bird Specials.” The rest of us would form a flash mob, overwhelm some poor restaurant owner, and cause a commotion by trying to use expired coupons, leaving chintzy tips, and trying to use the bathrooms all at the same time! 😸

This is a precursor to establishing a Federal Police Force. These mob riots along with reduced local police forces, are a manufactured crisis that will cumulate into federal government action. The Federal Police Force was floated around in the Obama term.
It didn't catch on, so the current model has been put in place to force the need.

Only if we can do it and be home before dark.....and get a raincheck if it's raining or our arthritis is acting up.

This 'influencer' was big among gamers who frequently socialize on the internet. Cannot emphasize this enough gamers are notorious stimulant users with many having attention span issues which would help explain why the crowd got out of control so quickly.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0747563221002132#:~:text=Approximately two out of five,4.9% used a prescription stimulant.

But those who live their life watching somebody else live theirs is not a good sign even if they were not excessive addicted game players because they're still looking/seeking gratification. They want and want it now.

I never heard of him before this incident but I'm not buying he's innocent. Funny but PewDiePie with 112M followers (disclosure: I'm one) never inspired riots and wouldn't want to. What's this guy's content consist of? Not the gaming part. Who cares about that even if I am still proud that I got a rare like from Pewds on one of his game play throughs which he doesn't do any more. Wife and now baby. He's maturing. Something these "influenzers" never seem to do. It says he does games and rants his opinions. Do those rants tend to be filled with anger and criticism of the system. Things like ACAB? If so, that could explain this - to say the least.

I too think there's something behind this sort of thing. It's not just rabid fandom like the Beatles (which I never did even understand that). It's more insidious and harmful. I do think they want a national police force - with all the scary implications that contains - and then international. The UN does not have to respect the US Constitiution or similiar charters for other nations and the UN very definitely does want to police the world. There's a huge dystopic move to create a one world order and it ain't freedom they're promoting. .

It's group think. It is a pack or mob mentality.

These influencers accumulate and get promoted by the amount of followers they have. Repeat 'followers'.

Everyone wants to belong I get it but this beyond trying to keep up with the Jones's. It's a cross between a cult, extreme fandom and mob mentality. Sheeple need/desire a Shepard. For some reason guys like this fit the bill.

That was just crazy. When asked if the influencer really intended to hand out free merchandise. one reporter said that he did but if he had informed the city first, they could have gotten ahead of things and managed the crowd much better. It was also pointed out that someone had to have incited the crowd further because no one brings the kind of articles of destruction to receive free goods.

No one thought they were getting anything for free. It was just another terrorist group doing what they can to show strength and that they can't be stopped. Look deeper and you will see BLM and ANTIFA ties.
Not true! I saw the video of him offering to give out free and this is an excerpt from the article in the OP:
"On Wednesday, Cenat announced on his Twitch channel that he would host a “huge” giveaway with video game consoles, PCs, keyboards, gaming chairs, headphones and other items."
You've made my point. If BLM and Antifa were involved, then yes they incited, not the young people who honestly thought they were going to get something for free. Not saying none of them joined in later and I'm certainly not defending the riot. Why don't you post evidence of your claim? A link, a quote (with source) or something.

He can't. It's too ridiculous.

You know, it's really more worrisome if there was no group involved on scene in instigating the violence. That means those kids are just ready to pop out of control at the slightest excuse.

You guys make this too easy......
Attendees knelt and started a "Black Lives Matter" chant as police tried to control the crowd, dozens stole snacks and drinks from a CVS store and others tried to break into the city bus where police were detaining some arrestees, more than half of whom were minors, according to the Times.
No one goes to a 'free giveaway' with shovels, baseball bats, destroying businesses, destroying police cars, all the while chanting BLM.

BLM ties to NYC Mob

People breaking out in a chant confirms no actual ties. I could start chanting something right now. Proves nothing.

Only to those who refuse to believe in factual information.
I hope your response was a joke....you, starting a BLM chant is much different than thousands of people chanting BLM while destroying family businesses, hurting people with shovels, and baseball bats. If you do believe those two things are 'equal' then sorry...ignoring is part of the problem.....And, at the end of the day, you folks have to live with the constant terror on the streets, the robbing looting, homeless taking over your city, not middle America.....good luck
Thats why 'Small Town' resonates so much with Americans. Keep the chaos in the cities.
