Whatever year you were born in, plus the age you reach that year, always adds up to the current year. Works in reverse, too. Current year, minus the age you reach that year, equals your birth year.

That just means you haven't had your 71st birthday yet this year. And next year when you have your birthday, it will be 72 plus 1952 = 2024.
