What are you doing today 2023

Today…..trying to remember where the week disappeared to……again.
Monday…..usual walks, cleaning, etc.
Tuesday…..repeat of Monday…..but…..60/80 winds made everything outside harder, not even pleasant to spend time on the balcony.
Wednesday…..notices were issued on August 11, that entry was been made to do…..testing of, fire alarms/smoke detectors/sprinkler head functionality, checked toilets, plumbing etc. for leaks, filters for fans and furnace, and anything else that are in need of service or repair.
Was lucky….they started on top/my floor….they were here at 9:30…..alarms went off every few minutes, and continued for about an hour after they left…..and twice more in the afternoon.

The notice stated they would enter your suite, whether you’re at home or not……your pets were to be contained…..you may stay during the check, which is what I did…..terrible noise…..but Micki and I lived through it.
They all wore covers on their footwear……which I was so happy to see.

Thursday…..usual….a repeat on Tuesday’s wind…...and went out for supper with a lady in building A.

Friday…..usual…..did the grocery thing, l love Sobeys produce.
Saturday…..usual…..and did the Canadian Tire thing…..got Pizza Hut take out…..love their pizza.
Sunday, today…..usual…..and probably a lot of laziness.😉😊😀.

@StarSong so you are one of those many in Los Angeles with a home with a pool in the backyard. Love it! I was born in downtown Los Angeles. My mind can still imagine how its unique 1950s smoggy smell used to be and how that would change on a day we little kids would be driven down to the salty seashore ocean smells of Santa Monica beaches.
My family moved here in 1970. Happy to say the smog problem has improved dramatically over the years.

Back when we were house hunting, a backyard pool was on hubby's "must have" list. He, a So Cal native, knew it would be a godsend for our kids. And it was.

Most summer days they donned bathing suits when they woke up and spent 3-4 hours swimming and playing in the water. During the highest heat of the day, they'd come inside, put a movie in the VCR, pop some popcorn, and chillax in the AC until early evening, when they'd usually go back for another swim.

Hurricane/tropical storm update: It just started raining here. Wind is gusty but not too bad yet. A stay at home day. Obvs.

Will do some invoicing in a little while, then plan to catch a few Little League World Series games today. Love watching the kids and the announcing team can't be beat. We've followed the LLWS for over 40 years. Wouldn't miss it. ❤️

If you've never watched it, you might want to tune into ESPN (US) to see what I'm talking about.

Today I am still thinking about yesterday and what I have to do after lunch.

I was out with a friend for coffee and we dropped in to the local Goodwill store.
They had been advertising a blue ticket 50% off sale for about a week so not much left but I did pick up a
Liz Claiborne shoulder bag, brand new, priced at $12.49.
Just the right size with pockets inside for keys and mobile etc. Perfekk

Well I get to checkout and hey !! .. it has a blue mark on the ticket which I had not noticed so I got it for $6.25 no tax.
I had deposited a lot of my good china with them ( broke my heart for about an hour) the previous week and noticed it was all sold so the young checkout girl said it was pay back time for me.

So about after lunch.
While in the Goodwill drooling over my new bag some monstrous flying thing deposited a load of green sh*t on my windshield and the sun had baked it on so I have to get a bucket and scrubber and get to work on it...grrrrrrr.
Ah well it was a good day all in all.

Good morning! Just a drive-by post for now......
Last night was so hot, humid, and miserable that I went straight into the house when we got home. I didn't do any of my chores!

Overnight, the temp went all the way down to 76°F/24.4°C. I got right up and went outside. I checked fences, watered, and did my other chores. I came back in just as the coffee was ready.

I'm glad it's done. Today's high is expected to be 105°F/40.4°C with a heat index of 115°F/46.1°C!!!!!!

Yep! I'm staying in today!

Stay safe! 🌩

Today is going to be cooler again. This will be our second day below 100 in two months. I am two days out from a car accident that totalled my poor car….and am sort of car shopping online. I think I will probably get about one third what i can replace my vehicle for from the insurance company. I am hoping for rain…
I hope you didn't get hurt!!!! 😳

All in all, I still think you came out ahead!!! Your new 👜 sounds perfect! Sometimes the price we pay isn't always in 💰. Hopefully we can just laugh when The Universe plays these tricks on us!

That splash is rather pretty. Mine has touches of cream and black. I haven't done the deed yet .
Watching DCI Banks..Brit series while lunching.....but I will get to it....I will I will I will... honest.
It is Sunday and I don't tell lies on Sundays

We got some rain last night and it looks like some wind too. Not too bad, but it did blow my cushions off my lounge chairs outside.
Clear, cloudy and humid outside this morning. 1% chance of rain.

Sounds like it's headed your way.

If you wait long enough, some rain might get it done for you! 😏

Well, I waited until it was getting dark to go to Walmart but is still an oven out there. Feel like I need another shower just from bringing in the bags and sodas.

When I came out there were 3 polices cars, 6 policemen, all questioning one 130lb .man. Why do so many show up for one little guy who was carrying nothing but a water jug? Makes no sense to me. Two of them could take the guy into custody if needed. I guess it is a good sign that crime is down, maybe the others were just bored with patrol.

Decided to go to the other store tomorrow for grandson's snacks and treats. Just to hot to do anymore today and the store will be closing soon,

Mmmm, those fish and chips the other day were wonderful, and when I turned my head for a few seconds, my friend (the lovely lady from across the road) had piled some of her chips onto my plate, it looked like Mount Everest, but this fella wolfed the lot.

We had some fun and games too with the manager, when I put the money (plus generous tip) on the table to pay for the meals, he said, "I'm sorry, Sir, we don't accept cash, we only accept card payment."
I replied, "My mouth isn't designed for your meals, but I somehow devoured it.... and cash is still legal tender."
Then we left with the manager open mouthed catching flies. 😊
