For The Love Of Dogs

We frequently walk the dog at a park with a lot home spun art works. I took this one of my two year old looking over the back of a bench with a BLM theme. Since her coloring is predominantly black, I think it is pretty cute. Her ears often have that stick them up look.

"Can't take him to the beach for a walk because he bothers you and upsets your holiday.

I'm not allowed to rent a house if I have a dog.

However, I can take him to the rubble to find you after an earthquake, in the woods after you get lost in the mountains and you didn't have neither map nor gps; under snow because you made a detour not allowed off track; in the water because, despite the red flag, you have entered the sea and your life is in danger!

He's just a dog, but he will find you. And he will save you!!" Dogs are family.

A 16-year-old golden retriever and the last known surviving dog that responded to ground zero during search and rescue efforts was put to rest Monday.

Bretagne, a retired fire department canine and FEMA search dog, received a final salute before being euthanized at a Houston-area veterinarian's office.

During her career, she responded to disasters all over the country, including 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina. Bretagne was the oldest known surviving dog of a group of canines that responded on 9/11, according to the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department, where the golden retriever was the K-9 partner of Capt. Denise Corliss for many years.

Corliss and Bretagne were deployed to ground zero by the Texas Task Force 1. Around 300 dogs took part in the search efforts, according to the Houston Chronicle.

After her retirement at age 10, Bretagne volunteered in her community and aided in training for other search dogs.

"Bretagne was a civil servant, a hero and is family. We will remember her fondly, and continue serving the community with her as inspiration," the fire department said in a statement.

Bretagne and Corliss both visited the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in 2014. A cobblestone on the memorial was previously dedicated in their names.

On August 18, British Transport Police (BTP) in Midlands were alerted to concerns for a dog’s welfare via text message.

The owner, the force said, was “intoxicated and not adequately caring for her dog.”

A dog in a collared shirt has delighted the internet after being rescued from its intoxicated owner.

BTP later shared a pic of the dog, paws resting against the door of a police van, while it looked out the window towards freedom.

This is my funky fellow. His name is "Moto". I never got to name him, because he was adopted. He was originally a street dog from Romania.

I'd like to say he's a super smart doggie, part human, but alas. No, he's very much a dog. Every day is like the first day, you've never seen a dog so excited just to find himself alive the next morning. :D

He's 11 years old now, which kind of makes me sad. He barks and barks if someone comes to the door, and I've never been able to train him out of it. He doesn't have a nasty vein in his body. He wants to meet EVERYONE, which can sometimes make walking him a pain.

Still, he's my dog. I originally adopted three, and sadly the others have passed since. I only have Moto left.

He loves sausages. I buy him them because it's cheaper than dog treats! But if the sausage is even tepid or super cool, he'll treat it like it's radioactive. Why? Well, coz he's a funky fella.
