Why is it that we will do anything when in front of a camera?

I was watching that "dumbest" video show. A guy was supposed to do a wheelie on a motorcycle in front of the camera. The stunt doesn't go well. He falls off, gets run over by the bike, several times. He's dragged down the road, and his leg is pinned under the bike. Yet, he limps back and asks if they want another "take". I've had a limited time in front of a camera, and there is something that comes over you. Put a camara in front of you, and you'll do most anything. Why is it that we will do anything when in front of a camera?
 

Not me... Not me at all... not one little bit.

I am entirely a behind the camera person... which is what my career was in TV & film production.. my o/h is a big noise in TV & film Production... still... and he loves the camera.. and the camera loves him..and sometimes during a show, particularly a chat show an artiste.. a celebrity , will want a fall guy for a joke... and my estranged o/h is usually the one who will oblige..

There arenā€™t many photos of me around. I dislike getting my photo taken but love taking photos especially stunning scenery and wildlife.

That may be true, except for me. I am pretty shy when it comes to working in front of a camera. The BBC asked if I would explain the armaments on the F/A-18E. Instead, I had a Major handle the job, which he was certainly happy to do it. He even took me out for steak a few nights later.
 
Worlds Dumbest? I'm sorry but I like that show. I know it's low but you can't beat it for insane entertainment. The commentary is funny also.

Some people act like total fools. I guess getting it on camera, which just about everyone has now, makes it more appealing.

..hence the huge increase in Youtubers... and when asked what they would like to be when they grow up.. over 50 % of 12 year olds said they wanted to be an ''Internet Influencer''..
 
Well the point being that so many are not interested in studying for anything worthwhile, because they think they can be paid for sitting in front of a camera filming mostly rubbish...

It's very concerning for the future job market
