Playground shut down because of 'a mouse' sighting

A playground in Wisconsin was shut down(temporarily) because of a mouse sighting.

Was it a shrew or mouse? Either way, it prompted Oconomowoc to close a playground

I'd be more scared of mouse poop than a mouse(or shrew) but I guess better safe than sorry.

What in the world. Whilst I can see that in some cases this might be reasonable, I don't think it is here.

Why? Well, here's a quote from that article: "The 16,000-square-foot playground, in the 100 block of East Forest Street in Roosevelt Park adjacent to the Lake Country Trail".

16,000 square foot, and they're closing it over a mouse?!? And adjacent to a trail, so...... did they think animals never go into the park at night?

Well, I can see why they closed down the kids' park. You can't take chances with germs. And there's no limit to the diseases those kids could have given the mice.

I remember well we had snakes of all kinds at school even a rattle snake one time Roxy Dunn caught it bare handed and the janitor would not have any idea of what to do with it, Roxy borrowed his knife and cut the snake's head off! We solved our problems at hand.
