Bribery for Five Star Reviews

The time I spent thinking about this tells me I have too much time on my hands today. 😊

After I had my car washed and I was vacuuming the inside, a nice young lady came up behind me. It gave me a start but I saw she worked there.
She proceeded to explain about this drawing. First she said I could scan the QR code on her tag to start the process. I declined and BTW, I never scan promotional QR codes (another subject). She said that was OK, I could go online when I got home and complete the review. If I gave five stars I would be entered in the drawing. I did fill out one of those little drawing tickets and kept the stub.

Firstly, I probably would give them five stars. They're always friendly and do a good job.
My problem is I'd want them to add a line to their hand out that says something like, " If we have not earned five stars please let us know so we canIMG_20230908_105227.jpg change that." Otherwise, it feels like bribery.

Petty?

Well, you said, " If I gave five stars I would be entered in the drawing. " I agree that sounds akin to bribery.
I don't know if it's just me, but I never pay attention to favorable reviews. I wonder how many of those favorable reviews were written by the owner and his grandmother. I like the ones where the guy is screaming and pounding the table about that crummy company- that's probably closer to the truth.

Not petty in the least... bribery , with a promise of something that might never even materialise.. How many others have given 5 star reviews before you, when perhaps a 5 star review wasn't merited.. but it brings the. company much more custom.. and empty promises of some vague prize in a Draw..for the customer
