I found some GREAT reading glasses on Amazon and buy multiple pairs of them.
Here's a link for 2 pair for only $14.95 ... TruVision Reading Glasses For Men And Women

I use 1.75 Diopter but that is a selectable option on the product page.
I use them almost continuously daily and each pair lasts me a year or longer before too scratched or a hinge breaks or something.
These are as good or better than any I've gotten from the drugstore and the only ones I will ever use now.

I also get mine at the dollar store. I have a pair or two in every room. My distance glasses seem to be my problem. I have all these cheap readers laying around but somehow my big dog chooses to eat my distance prescription glasses.

He has eaten two pair over the last couple of months. Need to get my eyes checked anyway, it has been two years. I just go to Americas Best. They do the exam and 2 pair of glasses at a reasonable price.

It is cheaper to go there than others that take my vision insurance.

One of the many benefits that my Wife receives as a retired employee of the University of Toronto is the Green Shield medical coverage which includes both of us. GS covers 100 percent on eye glasses every second year and 80 percent of all dental work each year. We have our annual eye exam together at the same provider, who also sells us our glasses. I am amazed at the number of people on here who buy "Dime store glasses ". JimB.

Yep. My optometrist.
My health benefits allow me to get my eyes tested by a optometrist every 2 years and pay for a portion of my glasses. My eyes are too bad to purchase genetic reading glasses. I’d do more damage to my eyes than good if I went that route. My brother buys dollar store glasses but his eyes aren’t as bad so they work for him whereas I have no line trifocals .

I got some bifocals readers from Amazon for that same price. One pair are sunglasses.
I've had good luck with Amazon glasses.
I have a few dollar store pairs and they're fine to keep around but I like the bifocals.

Dollar Tree for my reading glasses. I buy up to 10 pair at a time.

I come home, put two on the kitchen table, two in the bathroom, one in the bedroom, one in the TV room, two in the office, and one in the car and one in my purse.

Two hours later, there are none on the kitchen table, three in the bathroom, none by the TV, an old pair in the bedroom, one..or maybe two...on my head, I can't see the computer because there are no glasses on the desk, my purse has apparently eaten its sole pair and I have no earthly idea where the others are.

It's the House Elf....he's farsighted and needs glasses to get up to his tricks, like hiding pens and car keys. That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it!

Over the recent years, I've purchased my OTC readers
at Walgreens, they worked well for my close-up reading
needs. Now though, I've had to transition to prescription
eyeglasses for driving needs distance driving. Those I
get through my eye clinic Cascadia Eye.

I like multiple pairs of backup glasses, have several but
want a few more pairs, so I will take a look at the True Vision
Reading Glasses online.

Hey @ Naturally, great looking coffee cup and eyeglasses :)

@ Jujube, the House Elf, I love that LOL.

It depends on your vision. As you age the lens becomes less flexible. Reading glass correct for the loss of flexibility. But if you need prescription glasses to see at a distance, then the same prescription has to be in your reading glasses. Otherwise, you can get the cheapy dollar store readers, and they will work fine.

Prescriptions from Specsavers. 2 for 1, as always. Got the cutest fancy pair of Nike Tennis Reading Glasses. However, as I multitask these days, I haven't the need for just my reading glasses. So, there in the box currently untouched.

As I've no problems for about 5 years at a time, I'm positive I'll be using them in near future lol!

I started with dollar store glasses and thought problem solved. Sure it was solved for a while but my eyes kept changing so now it's prescription every few years.

Dollar stores. All over my house and car. Do have one prescription reading glass pair I use for viewing my computer and yes since that can be for hours some days, that does reduce eye strain. Also have 3 yet unscratched pairs of distance glasses though my eyes at 70/20 are marginal enough they are not required for driving.
