Do You Text Using Your Thumbs?

I use my index finger. I'm sure I look like a lower primate when I text but I like to spell out words and spell them right.
Same here, using index finger and spelling out words. I use no text speak except for lol. Always use punctuation and never type in all lowercase. Kind of fussy that way. :)

It never occurred to me to use my thumbs on the smartphone. I use a stylus on my tablet. It works well. My desktop computer has a keyboard with large print on the keys. I would not have any other.

I have flying thumbs! 😂 💬

I text and write on my phone all the time and use my thumbs for same. I’m using my thumbs as I’m typing what you’re reading right now! The speed at which I thumb-type is equivalent to slowly talking….not as fast as my keyboard typing which is around 85 WPM.

If I’m sitting at a table or desk and I need to type something on my phone, sometimes I’ll lay it down and use my index fingers to tap out the message, at about the same speed as my thumb typing.

I’m efficient at it because my phone is in constant use through the day…texting, searching, making lists, reminders, creating text documents for clients for all kinds of reasons etc…and then in my downtime, responding to social media posts like this one, responding to or sending emails, pretty much everything you do on your computer I do on my phone. I have a laptop too, and use it as well. But my phone is much more portable.

Really? I just click the little microphone and speak, no fingers or thumbs..love it. Seevideo.
I have the ability to do that on my phone, but I never have.

While listening to my sister -in- law use it on her phone, I noticed that after every sentence she'd have to say 'period', or in the conversation at times she'd have to say 'comma'.

Is that something that has to be done on all cell phones?

Well it does on mine

Well, it does on mine,(Apple iPhone) but in saying 80 or more words, having to say full-stop comma, exclamation mark etc. only takes less than a second or so.
Far better than typing (Thumbs)and trying to find them, Using CAPS,123, Using my method can send a reasonably long text, the length of time it takes to say it! probably ten times faster than I can type!!. And accurate too.

I rarely text, and usually do so only when it is absolutely necessary. When I do text, my thumbs are far too clumsy an instrument, and I simply tap away with my trusty index finger, the same way that I am doing now to enter this post on my iPad…
