One thing you always wanted to do and didn't!

In my case it's a trip to Las Vegas. It's garish, vulgar, overblown, exaggerated in the attempts of one casino trying to outdo the other. Practically speaking, it's using up a lot of water in useless displays as well ...

... and yet it's always been my dream to visit the city. Not to gamble, but just to see the display (the one I just called garish and vulgar), of the neon lights and structures at night!

Times Square holds almost the same fascination for me. It's incredibly tacky, yet I love it in its tackiness!

I lived in Vegas for a couple years. We lived out in the desert, but yeah, the strip was bright and lively after dark and they had some good shows. It's even brighter and livelier now.

If you ever go, Old Salt, spend your money at the restaurants! The food is great!
It's just a dream now, @Murrmurr, I don't even have a passport anymore to let me cross the border. Too late for just about everything, so I watch Vegas on video instead!

Do you paint at all anymore Frank. I gave it up years ago because the smell of turps was too bothersome but now engage in pastel drawing which is both pretty and easier on my sinuses and general health.
My grandfather was a painter and quite well known in our neck of the woods. He made a good living of it too! And I will always fondly remember the smell of turpentine! It didn't affect me adversely the way it did you, @chic!black forest.jpg

I always wanted to do a road trip in an RV... basically across the whole country. It would have started in NYC and ended in Los Angeles. Should have done it when an RV to either buy or rent would have cost less than half what it would now and gas was $1.10 a gallon. ⛽

Had plans for fun stuff like eating at Mom & Pop diners along the way 🍝 and buying a CD of local artists and a box of chocolates 🍫 from local chocolate makers, too. Pretty much sure it's never going to happen now. 😢

you need a passport to travel from Canada to America ?.. aren't they both America tho'.. I mean, isn't Canada North America ?
All we needed before 9/11 was a driver's license, or some form of personal I.D. That all changed after the towers came down! Now passports are required for every Canadian crossing the border!

Hey @CallMeKate, that was my dream for the longest time, to cross the continent in an R.V. I am not sure how my wife would have felt about it???

That was never my dream, @officerripley, I have a feeling I would have looked silly! And I apologise in advance if you were serious!
Um yeah; I was serious. I've been a real "plain Jane" for most of my life but did want to get dressed up and go to the prom really bad. I used to daydream about what kind of dress I'd get. Oh, well, it taught me that daydreams (any dreams, really) are best avoided since all they usually do is break your heart.

I didn't go to my prom either... last minute decision to back out. I had my dress and everything... floor length mint green with super cool sleeves. 👗 But I never regretted the decision and probably would do the same thing now given the same circumstances.
🤷‍♀️

I have always wanted to visit Jerusalem, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and relive and experience the life of Jesus.
That would be incredible. I've never quite let my cousin forget how mean he was years ago calling and saying "Hey, guess where I am?! Standing on the Mount of Olives looking at the Old City." (Because he knew I would have loved to be able to go!) So many things to see in that region. @palides2021

Would you accept a big hug from me, @officerripley? Women didn't exactly trip over themselves at the sight of me, either!

@officerripley My mother had never been to a prom, either, so in my junior year of high school I lent her a very dressy pretty blue lace dress, my dad bought her a corsage, and off they went. She was thrilled. Funny to dance the night away and wave at the 'rents as we passed them on the dance floor :)

I always wanted to learn to decorate cakes. Working in the bakery...perfect opportunity, right? Wrong. I no longer have the strength in my hands to do such precise work :(
