Another flake on Marketplace

I don’t bother to sell anything for less than 20. Which means I ask 30 so I can come down to 20. I donate if worth less.

I also let people initiate all contact and don’t contact them after a no show. This saves me a lot of time. I hope the auction house buys everything but be prepared as the offer will be low.

debodun, it seems you are way more concerned about keeping the appointments than your buyers are. Give them a time, and if they show up, they show up; if they don't, they don't. Then go about your business. You haven't lost anything, because if they didn't want the items enough to show up, they weren't eager to pay for them, either.

Good luck, Deb. BTW...your teacups brought back memories of my mom. She collected them for many years. When she passed, my brothers and I each took one as a memento and my one brother sold the rest in auction many years later when my dad sold the house to downsize.

I have my mother's extensive teacup collection, too. Every once in a great while, when I'm called on to throw a shower or other brunchy event, I call it a tea and pull my mom's teacups from the boxes. No idea what will eventually happen to them.

It's one of the many reasons I'm not a collector.
