Healthy Recipe and Snack Ideas Thread

No, I have tried quinoa, not good, like eating sand. It might be better as a base for a good salad with plenty of veggies and a dressing like a pasta salad. I am not a fan.
Yes. I liked it mixed with things too. One of those acquired taste things.

I have handy, or carry with me, all organic
1. roasted boneless skinless chicken breast strips, and
2. toasted almonds, or
3. roasted vegetables, and
4. hard-boiled egg, or
5. power bowl (Buddha bowl with animal protein)
Someone recently inspired me to consume more quality salt. That did not work for me. So, for me, a lower salt & carb, higher fat & protein diet taken sparingly (highest quality throughout) works best. Otherwise, I suffer.

Hi hearlady. That's because you didn't use enough oil. I pop the corn in a paper bag, then sprinkle in lots of olive oil, then lots of nutritional yeast, and shake the hell out of the bag. Yum!
I know. Spraying lightly with oil wasn't enough. You'd think I could nail that easy recipe! 😁

For a really good snack I like peanut butter and jam on unsalted crackers with a big glass of milk. Like eating cookies, but without all the stuff they put in cookies.

Also, I like to eat oatmeal for breakfast. It can get pretty boring eating the same thing all the time. But, with oatmeal I can change it everyday: raisins, bananas, various cold cereals mixed in with it, various jams and jellies, chocolate milk, etc. Each addition changes the flavor of the oatmeal enough to make it delicious every day.

Not sure if you'd like this but, as an ingredient to my homemade chili I use a can of tomato soup, undiluted, along with all the other usual ingredients. Makes for a sweeter and more tomato flavor.

My biggest thing these days is.......STOP listening to YouTube gurus with their diet wars. Keto, low carb, low fat, carnivore, vegan, potato diet and potaatho diet. I'm done with them.
The common theme? Real food. Not too much. The one thing in common in these diets is they lost weight which fixed their maladies.
@Robb.hisself, oatmeal is delicious!
And so is chili!!!!
