Dave and I went to England for a little over 2 weeks. Most of it was a coach tour, but we had a few days in London on our own. Weather was mostly beautiful, and unseasonably warm. It was interesting, fun, exhausting, and occasionally frustrating. And perhaps a few days too long. I’ll start off with a pic of the Elizabeth Tower and Big Ben. We toured the National Gallery and I have to say the standout to me, besides Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, was a painting of a racehorse. It virtually jumped off the canvas, even from a two galleries away. It was stunning. Our hotel was near Trafalger Square. Great location! Stay tuned for more pics. I’ll try to keep it brief.

I'm a self-professed Anglophile. Did 8 annual trips before the plague, but started back this year hiking in the Lake District and we'll hike the Cotswolds next year. I'm thinking of getting a 'museum fix' and just go to London for 9-10 days in February. If you're interested in going back, I would definitely advise you to see Lake District and Cotswolds.

Thanks for sharing. England and Wales are clearly wonderful. <sigh>
of course... and Scotland even more wonderful.. and then not forgetting Northern Ireland, sooo wunnerful.... :sneaky::D:love:....ahhh it is home... but much of it isn't where I would live.. just like every other country in the world it has some really rotten places .. I'm fortunate that I don't live anywhere near those
