I could use some Bed Pillow Advice?

I'm curious what is the best choice these days for bed pillows. I heard it's better to swap them out annually, but that can get expensive depending on type and quality level. Last year I did a spur of the moment thing and bought a pair of Costco kings for $25 a pair, but their only advantage was price, not a great sleep. I'm looking for something new.

Do you get feather, foam, or fancy memory foam? How often do you replace them? Do you get high end name brand or whatever is on sale?

I am very picky about my pillow. I have a very flat pillow and on top of that is a very thin old down pillow. The old down pillow I have does not get hot like modern down pillows often do. I even packed these pillows in my carry-on luggage on the plane!
 

Only down pillows for me. I wear them out before replacing them, as they are ever so comfy. I sleep soundly through the night on them.

They can be a bit pricey, but well worth the money for I make them last.

Goose down , expensive but worth it.

All-Weather Product​

If I could find a real goose down pillow and it was thin, I’d buy it. In the meantime it’s a very thin synthetic pillow and even those are hard to find. When I replace it, I keep the old one to take to hotels when travelling by car.

I posted at the same time as you. Are their pillows thin or huge and fluffy. Did you buy the Signature.

I just took their online quiz and that returned the verdict I should get their queens sized pillow. My mattress is a queen so fine. But I don't like a big poofy pillow. I tend to like them thinner but with good neck support so it can't just go flat either. Any recommendations?

I bought the "Cloud" in a medium density. (Side sleeper) I really don't know how thin the soft density pillow is but I would assume it's stuffed less than the one I have. But even though mine has more stuffing, I can punch it down to whatever thickness I want. But they have free shipping and free returns if you don't like it.

I'd go with the soft density if you have neck issues. Also if you sleep on your stomach. The medium is best for side sleepers. It's fluffed up when you unpack it, but again, you can "smush" it to whatever height is comfortable. That's the beauty of down pillows.

Walmart Mainstays pillows $3.44. Yall probably wondered who bought those.

We all three use two pillows each, so I buy six at a time and every few months throw them all out and buy new.

That's me in a nutshell, extremely cheap, obsessively clean.
 
I've used the mediflow water pillow for many years, though when I retired last year and got rid of all my stuff except for what I could fit in my car for traveling, then I got rid of my pillow and used the tiny travel size mediflow water pillow instead.
This thread made me realize I ought to buy a regular size one now that I've settled down, so I just ordered a new one (luckily they are having a sale plus I found a promo code online that helped a little more).
