A 14-year-old boy opened fire inside a luxury Thailand shopping mall today, killing at least three people and injuring six others before being arrested by police.

The schoolboy went on the shooting rampage with a Glock 19 handgun inside the Siam Paragon building in the centre of the Thai capital on Tuesday afternoon shortly after 4pm local time, police said.

Injured victims were seen being carried from the mall before a special dispatch team swooped to apprehend the teen gunman.

Hundreds of terrified shoppers were earlier seen fleeing in panic or hiding in nearby restaurants and shops after reports of more than ten gunshots.

Videos shared on social media showed people, including children, running out of the doors of the Siam Paragon mall as security guards ushered them out.

I have been in Thailand twice. I thought the Thais were buddhists and buddhist were people who believe in peace. Maybe this kid didn't believe in what the buddhists believe.

I've been there, too, and the people were very friendly and polite, and all the towns I visited were peaceful. But there's been some civil unrest and protests against the government there for the past few years.

Not sure what this 14yr-old kid's beef was about, though.

we probably will never be told the truth either

what causes a person to decide shooting anyone ... let alone strangers in a public place .... Mental illness .... pure and simple

Look at what social media and the stuff seems to promote....... if you have not done this or that or have this or that .... you are no one and invisible.
i volunteer on a mental health site ( world wide type site) ............ Far too many young people ........feel they are losing an invisible race and their peers are eclipsing them... yada yada
IMO all promoted by BS they see on social media ............ they are anxious / depressed some self harm and other want to lash out....
