I live in a small 1 bd room apt{614 sq feet} my favorite is the corner in my living room
My recliner is there,I sit and read my books/newspapers look out the living room window to see who's coming and going I recognize most of the residents cars who live in my building.
I get the afternoon sun during summer months, if I forget to close the wooden blinds the sun will come thru, and I find myself starting to doze as I'm reading LOL!
Where is your favorite?

I have a front room that has a large bay window looking out over the front of my property. Back when I was married it was only used for entertaining when we had parties, once divorced I made it into my primary living room. I like it because of that big window, I can see my drive so if someone shows up I know. The view is also what was my front pasture, so trees and green space that almost always has wildlife walking around. It's my favorite room to relax in.20231017_113515.jpg

The house is open concept. In the evening I have a recliner for watching TV. When I’m reading, I take the short walk across the room to my small, comfy upright chair. It’s a Goldilocks chair - it’s just the right size. It’s showing the wear and tear and I can’t find a replacement. Guess that also make it a Fraser’s dad chair and it’ll be staying.

When the kittens came, I closed the two bedroom doors. Wanted them to get to know the area slowly. After a week, I opened my bedroom door (I had been sleeping on the couch.) I may never open the smaller bedroom door. I hide there. I can eat without kittens jumping all over me, trying to steal my food! I made a small dining table. I eat & watch TV in peace.

Maybe I'll never open it to them. I must though, I call it my grandson's playroom, and it will be his room for when he is older and comes over if I live that long.

For now, it's my room. MINE. Always liked the view, Big Tree, whom I've known since it was a baby twig and nice lawn.

I hate the open living room-kitchen thing. Who wants to see a damn dishwasher when you're watching TV
I know what you’re saying, that why I had a raised countertop put in when the house was built. It blocks the view of the kitchen counters. Every time I see the big flat island in a decorating site or show, I wonder how they’ll feel when they have company and there’s dishes everywhere. I also bought a well sound proofed dishwasher. You can’t hear it when it‘s running.

My Gran had one of those in her home which was Victorian. I loved it and used to try to hang out there.

I have a small 2 bedroom house. I have an eat-in kitchen, and a separate living room. I hate the open living room-kitchen thing. Who wants to see a damn dishwasher when you're watching TV!!!!!!!! I spend evenings under wall sconce watching TV or reading.
Be kind to your dish washer. She might want to watch tv too.....

We did the same thing when the builder was all set to extend the counter into the living room with stools, etc. We already had plenty of room in the kitchen for a nice table and chairs, plus a formal dining room. so I had him build up the half-wall an extra foot so people in the living room couldn't see the kitchen sink and it made an extra living room wall for seating or a piano, etc.

Now, everyone who comes to the house gets all excited and says, "You could turn this wall into a bar with stools!"
Now I hang out in the sewing room and create.
My mother always had a sewing room. I just don't have her skills so my spare bedroom was called the arts and crafts room until, after a few failures there, I gave up and called it what it really is, The Jigsaw Puzzle room. It's my favorite place. I work on the puzzle while listening to the radio and no one bothers me because it's off the beaten path of the house.

I live in an old warehouse without much charm so I spend lots of time out in my garden. In the San Francisco Bay Area that is possible nearly year around. But when in doors I’m usually in my bedroom, on a couch in the living room or at the dining room table.

This is the driveway and our side door. With the wheelchair lift we expect to age in place.

The gazebo deck is across the driveway from the side door.

Through the back gate at the end of the driveway is more garden with a larger patio for entertaining where can set up several tables. But pic shows my pup just inside the back garden.

Had to dig to find anything indoors but this was from one Christmas with Lia’s cousin playing piano.
