Do birds occasionally crash into your windows.

I have a large picture window in the dining area, and birds sometimes crash into it. A few minutes ago, a quail just hit it pretty hard. I went out, squatted down, and talked to him for awhile, and he eventually began to recover. He could still walk, but not sure about flying, but wings didn't seem to be broken, and quail spend more than half their life on the ground anyway, so hope he will be OK.

When I lived out in the country I used window cling decals to avoid bird collisions. But now in Maryland the only bird that has come near my balcony glass doors are geese. The maintenance guy told me that one year they laid eggs on the balconet of this apartment!

Yes, we have transom windows in our living room and family room and birds occasionally crash into them. I hear little "thumps" when it happens. Some do it more than once, but fortunately I've never seen one that has been injured.

Yeah, we had collisions with our cabin windows before we hung some stuff

Nutcrackers made the most noise

This one knocked himself out

So, I laid him on the picnic table and gently smoothed his feathers
He slowly came to
Staggered around a bit
Then flew off rather cockeyed

My husband used to put mirrors on the fence up the backyard to make the yard look bigger. One particular bird used to come over
and do the fan dance at the mirror. I think he was a male and was trying to attract a female, thus all the feathers flying about and a
lot of crap all over the place. He always looked a little dejected but came back for more the next day.

Birds impact with my bow window several times a year, either fooled by a reflection or thinking that they can simply fly on through. There have been no fatalities as of yet. My cats love to perch on the window as well to watch the birds, making masticating sounds with their mouths…🙀

Yeah, whenever my cat would hear a bird thump into the window, it would come running like someone rang the dinner bell. I didn't want her doing it, but it's nature, what are you gonna do.

I have a large window facing my sunny back garden where there's a lot of Birds nests... the window faces a floor to ceiling wall to wall mirrored closet , so when the babies fledge they will often fly straight into the window , so when it's particularly sunny, I close the blind...

Quail is wildlife isn't it? So you could call a game warden.

Yes, I have had an occasional bird crash into my window and am always very upset about it. :(

It's happened a few times. The last time I rescued a bird was when I found a catbird in the street in front of my house. Maybe it was clipped by a car. I brought it to a place where they rehab injured birds. Bird recovered and was released eventually.

Not where I live but we used to have a cottage by the lake and the little fellers used to hit the windows all the time. Some survived. They sat on the ground, sort of dazed and then flew away after 5 minutes

Other weren't that lucky and end up in that big bird house up in the sky!
