Daisy, you will find SF to be an engrossing place. There are lots of posts which range from the serious to the downright funny. We have such nice people here who contribute interesting, informative posts on many subjects. If you get lonely, we're here. If you need "a shoulder", we're here. I hope you enjoy SF as much as I do.

Well, now you have both family and close friends (Be careful what you wish for - just kidding).
We are a mismash of everything from soup to nuts (Emphasis on the nuts), and we will take you places you've never been before, and maybe never want to go to again, but if you are up for the ride, hop in and just think of it as a bizarre road trip. Good to have you with us.

Welcome Daisy. I can't speak for anyone else, but there are probably a lot of people here in a similar situation. Personally I don't even have domesticated varmints underfoot. I might change that but I have cat allergies and at this stage I'm already too set in my ways! ;)

I hope you find a level of community here that helps you feel a little less alone.

You'll like it here. We're a friendly bunch.

I'm a Yooper (mostly). Born in Michigan just over the state line between Wisconsin and Michigan, taken home to Wisconsin (Hurley, Sin City of the North), then away until after WWII, then lived on the Michigan side until 1958. Now I live in Georgia.
