What Alternatives to Coffee and Tea Do You Like?

I'm a black coffee drinker, but I've cut back to making weak half-decaf. Even so, in cold weather i can only drink so much.

Sometimes tea works, but it dries the mouth and throat. Herbal teas are another possibility, but some are bitter and even with variety I need something else.

Lately, off and on, I drink a hot weak mixture of sugar-free Jello (or a knock-off). Quite a few flavors to choose from, and you get some gelatin with its benefits for hair, skin, and nails.

Sometimes I'll even drink hot Crystal Lite, a sugarless instant "water flavoring" product.

The idea being to limit caffeine and sugar, but if I can also eliminate artificial sweeteners so much the better.

Ideas?

I don't like hot tea... but I do buy and enjoy unsweetened iced tea. Pure Leaf is good... as are a few other brands, but some brands actually have chemicals added for some reason. Not the kinds I get, and that's important to me. It's an acquired taste, I guess, but I never put sugar in coffee or anything, so I got used to it fast... it's refreshing.

Coffee, tea, water and vodka. I keep ginger ale on hand in case of an upset stomach. That's about it. I will have to try the jello thing. That sounds interesting.

I'm a protein shake kind of person and one brand, Dymatize has a Cocoa Pebbles flavor that tastes like Swiss Miss and has no sugar, so maybe try making a shake and warming it up? I haven't tried it because I'm weirdly avoidant to hot beverages, don't know why 😃

Love my cuppa cha's (tea).
Other than that it's water - mainly in the evenings after eating my tea.
When my stomach is a bit iffy or I feel a bit sniffly, l have lemon and ginger tea.

If I don't drink tea or coffee then I drink hot chocolate but don't need the extra calories. I like iced tea and I have some plain seltzer water here. I drink soda pop but plan to make a concentrated effort to get off the pop once the stuff in the house is gone. I like the water enhancers you can add to your water. I prefer the bottles of drops. A couple drops is usually enough.

Any food scientists here willing to suggest sweeteners that don't risk breaking down to toxins at high temperatures? That's something that worries me. I mention the sweeteners because so many of those "water enhancements" have them.

I think I have cold drinks covered. What I lack are drink options for the cold months.

I've even tried some weird things like diluted vegetable juice heated up. Not as bad as it sounds, but also not something for every day. Weak green tea is also on my roster.

It just seems like I'm missing something obvious.

Water mostly. But I do drink decaf coffee as the day progresses if you call that an alternative. Also, I juice up 4 or 5 pounds of carrots with beet, celery, apple, and fresh ginger.
That's great! The juicing of those vegs are so healthy, and beneficial to your gut and liver.
I really need to start doing that. First, I'll need a juicer. :giggle:

Squeezing juice from fruits and veg is fine. But where's the fiber? You need the fiber, too. If you're diabetic, too much fruit juice is harmful and diabetics need fiber, especially. Also the whole item satisfies hunger longer.
