..and you would have been at the time.. because that was all the fashion...The Kings road, Carnaby street et al... or any smaller fashion stores in the vicinity...I was there in London the summer of 1967. I bought a mini-dress......not Mary Quant and not on Carnaby Street but just around the corner and much cheaper.
I also stocked up on some chunky costume jewelry and some equally-chunky shoes.
I thought I was the cat's meow.
I don't have any memories of swinging 60's London .. because I didn't arrive here from Scotland until 1974.. when I was 19..Holly, you were so young, but what memories, if any, do you have of London's "swinging" districts from 1967?
yes and of course she was credited with inventing the mini skirt....I remember how popular Mary Quant was, and bought a MQ pattern for a tulip skirt. It was black of course, worn with a long-sleeved rib-knit top. Of course, my hair was poker-straight, with a fringe (bangs).
